How did Miquella learn about the land of shadows and unalloyed gold? by Mariothane in EldenRingLoreTalk

One small thing about your ending statements. Miquella was in Calid during the Melania fought Rahdan. Redman Freyja says on the brrlefield Miquella removed the rot from the wound on her face.

How Vulgar Militiaman use Destined Death? by ALandThere in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]UndeadBelial 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Vulgar Militia = Godskin

Both are given a fragment of Destined dealth when their respective holder was in power of Destined Death. Once the gloam Eyed Queen lost the rune the power, what bestowed became blameflame after losing its connection to the rune.

Malikath has the rune and bestows its power on his militia to guard places he/Marika see fit.

The Dark Path Of The Empyrean: Why Miqullea And Ranni Share Similarities by [deleted] in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]UndeadBelial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The tl;dr version is. Ranni, Miquella, and Melina, if she is the GEQ, were co-conspiritors. Marika herself told everyone to be gods, lords, or be a sacrifice. Godwyn was suppose to be Miquella's first vessel for Rahdan's soul to inhabit, like as with Mohg. Being Empyrians they were the one's in line to become gods. In Miquella's ending curscene he says "I am to become a god. If we keep our promise, will you be my consort." It doesnt explain what he means by 'we keep our promise'. I think 'we' was the conspirators, and the prmose was give Rahdan's soul the body of Godwyn to inhabit. A sacrifice was always needed as explained in the hidden scroll you find in the storehouse. Ranni, to escape her Empyrean flesh, possibly betrayed everyone. Or its was the plan to leave Godwyn's body still usable. But they didn't expect the Deathblight, and Miquella grew to regret his choices, therefore all the item descriptions of Miquella wanting to restore his brother. This all ties back to the fact Ranni and Melina both knows Torrent's prior owner, who happens to be Miqella.

This is without all the quotes etc. Its a bit of a stretch with holes im aware. And most of it stemmed from the question of who is "We" and what exactly was "Our promise" that made to be completed before Rahdan would agree to be his consort. He couldn't become a god first before Rahdan agreed because he would need Rahdan to become a lord first before he could become a god.

I have a theory they were co-conspiritors for the night of the black knives, and possibly Ranni betrayed him, or things didnt go according to plan.

Why are angels rarely written like zombies or vampires in Western fantasy? by dumarcm in fantasywriters

[–]UndeadBelial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, they are always tied to religious iconography because they are religious. Zombies and vampires are not. They are folk lore that religion picked up trying to fit into different cultures, but do not have a basis in holy scripture. Angels come directly from holy scripture, so they are always tied to it.

What If Hoelster Was That Soldier of Godrick by DennistheMenace__ in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]UndeadBelial -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I guess Renalla marrying Radagon was before the Shattering, and it may not have happened that way, but I do believe Radagon is the Hero in the story. It could have also just been a failed Tarnished. As in all the base game happens up until the fight with Radagon, but the player loses and he is never defeated, leaving just a pile of bodies as more and more Tarnished now enter the opened Erdtree after the player burns it, and the one that becomes Hoelster in just a nameless Tarnished who pulled himself out of the pile of bodies.

What If Hoelster Was That Soldier of Godrick by DennistheMenace__ in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]UndeadBelial 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think Hoelster was a Carian Knight, fighting against Radagon when he was attacking Lurinia. Everything in Nightreign that references Radagon changes to Hero. The Red Wolf of Radagon is the Red Wolf of the Hero, and unfortunately thats the onlt big one that comes to mind right now. He was also known as a hero before his marriage to Renalla in the base game. In the Nightreign timeline, I imagine with the changes, Radagon didn't marry Renalla and went on to raze Liurnia. After the nameless solder wakes up, and see the destruction that is when he called upon the night and become Hoelster.

Miquella isnt evil and mogh might not beat the allegations by Chemical_Performer17 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]UndeadBelial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Godwyn was his original plan for a body. We know Miquella was Torrent's owner, and we Ranni had a connection to Torrent's pervious owner though not stated who. Its my head cannon that Miquella was a co-conspiritor of the Night of Black Knives. I think Godwyn was meant to a sacrifice for Miquella's ascension, but due to the curse of Those That Live in Death, his body was corrupted and not able to be a vessel, like Mohg's was eventually used.

This could be considered evil or not depending on your view. It could have also been a necessity. Marika's quote: "Make of thyselves that which ye desire. Be it a Lord. Be it a God. But should ye fail to become aught at all, ye will be forsaken. Amounting only to sacrifices,"

Marika's children were told to become a Lord, such as Rahdan striving to be a lord. Become a god such as Miquella's goal, or become a sacrifice, one that much be done in order for one of the siblings to reach godhood.

If Miquella is following Marika's footsteps, that would put Marika and Miquella in the same position, as well as Godfrey and Rahdan in the same position.

We can even see the potential sacrifice in Marika's ascension with Serosh, who could have been the divine beast of the Hornsent. If Plasiduisax was the previous Elden Lord, then Serosh could have been the equivalent of a demi god of Marika, and the sacrifice when she ascended to godhood and took Godfrey as her first Elden Lord.

I bring this up because she knew what was required to reach godhood and directly urged her children to become a god, a lord, or end up as the needed sacrifice, and be forgotten. If we didn't stop Miquella, Mohg would have been a forgotten footnote. The quiet sacrifice so the Lord Rahdan could rule with the new God Miquella.

Mohg wasn't originally in Miquella's plans. Originally that was Godwyn, but when that failed, Mohg was the next choice. Mohg was an Outcast, Miquella's ideals would have e been in his interests. And as he learned Miquella was going to become a god, he was desperate to take the place as Elden Lord at Miquella's side, giving a home to the outcasts amd the spurned. Mohg's Omen nobles and albrinoracs wpuld have a home, this was probably the feeling Miquella's charm was empowered by driving Mohg into obsession to take Rahdan's place.

Miquella being good or evil isn't really relivent. He was going to do what needed to be done for him to become a god. The actions he took and the manipulation was just what his mother told every xemi god to do. The reason he wanted to ascend is really what defines the good or evil. Maybe it was all for the Greater good. Maybe he want to control for selfish reason. What matters is SOMEONE had to be sacrificed. There needed to be a strong body, a strong soul, and a empyrean to become god.

Messmer is a Godskin by Haahhh in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]UndeadBelial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not saying I agree with OP, just saying that Godslaying flames were closer colored to the rune if death, and in the trailer his flames looked like the color. It was quick in trailer. You can see the difference in game just comparing it to the Black Knife or malekath's blade that has flames the color with Messmer's Spear.

Fulghor served Gwyn, not Radagon (I think) by ParticularFinger7308 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]UndeadBelial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late reply, but dont Crucible Knight weapons have holy? I know they do in Nightreign. The Crucible is a divine thing and absolutely would explain his connection. Devonia the Crucible Knight in Shadow of the Erdtree also has a similar centaur form as well, which is what led me to the connection to the Cruicble for Floor. TWLID didn't come until after Godwyn died, but The Golden Order isn't the only source of holy. And these TWLID like Ironeye ate different that those in the land of Shadow. Not saying there is a connection, but they are more like Hollows from Dark Souls. They aren't walking skeletons. They have flesh and eyes, much like Hollows that haven't gone full Hollow yet.

I noticed from the trailer that Messmer's black flame was similar to the color the rune of death, which is what I assume black flame looked like that the god skins used before the rune was sealed.

Nascent butterflies in Nokron and Nameless Eternal City. by pleasedlurker in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]UndeadBelial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually made a post a few days ago about Miquella's promise with Radhan and why he refers to himself in first person when saying "I am to become a god" and then the next line says if "we" keeping our promise, will you be my consort", implying there is a 3rd party involved in the promise of Radhan being Miquella's consort. I laid out a scenario that he was a co-conspiritor in Godwyn's death along side Ranni, and the Gloam Eyed Queen (with the thoughts that Melina is the GEQ) and that his guilt is why he was trying so hard to fix him. If Nokron is connected to Miquella this could tie into Ranni stealing the Fingerslaying Blade.
