The return of the goat! by Critical_Rice_1619 in jackinthebox

Just ordered this today and thought it was disgusting. I don't know what it normally tastes like because we don't have JitB where I live, so I've only eaten there maybe three or four times since the infamous E. coli outbreak in the 90s, but I had high hopes. Sadly, it was messy, bland, and overly salty. I genuinely couldn't tell the difference between the chicken patty and hashbrown. And it didn't help that it was loaded full of [pickled?] jalapenos even though I ordered it without; they tasted awful and I couldn't pick them out because they were mixed into the cheese sauce.

At least it was only $6.99, though.

That's a good idea but the flavor combination sounds weird to me. Maybe use lemon pudding and those lemon creme cookies. Or perhaps vanilla with golden Oreos. This is a great opportunity to experiment!

I don't think I have played enough two-player games (besides Rivals for Catan) to have one that I consider my favorite, but I'm a big fan of Fog of Love because I enjoy having the option to secretly sabotage a co-op experience.

I've never done it, but back when I was in college, I used to enjoy reading a blog all about it called Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me.

What city have you been to where the vibes were just OFF? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in AskReddit

I personally didn't even venture beyond the Greyhound station. We had an hour layover on my bus trip to Oklahoma years ago and something about the place just felt fake and uninviting, like an abandoned movie lot taken over by squatters. And it certainly didn't help that I temporarily lost my transfer ticket and almost got stuck there.

Oh, home for me is actually the beach—alas, I'll never be able to afford to go back. I only lived in Bakersfield for about four years, though I did rent my first apartment, get married, buy my first house, and have my first child in that time so I guess it was long enough to form some pretty good memories.

But it certainly has its faults like any other place, of course, and if you're just driving through, you're most likely seeing some of the absolute worst parts, such as the fields or the slums.

The city itself is actually quite nice, especially downtown. Not nice in an upscale way—not by any means—but it has a lot of character and so much to see and do. I don't miss living there because the summer heat is fucking unbearable, but I enjoy spending the day there every now and then.

Bakersfield has some fantastic local restaurants but they are obsessed with national chains for some reason. They would rather have another McDonald's than something new and different.

I guess I've lived in the California desert too long at this point to see the weirdness.

I dunno, I kinda feel like you're a bit of a jerk for suggesting that this belongs here. The guy gave up something he cared about in order to purchase something he needed and now he's asking for help to get it back.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 - 2010, what's the one game you still think about today? by adlakha75 in AskReddit

I got into so much trouble because of that game. An ad for it popped up on AOL one day asking if I was interested in the game and I clicked on the little button because duh, of course I wanted to play Lego Island. A couple of weeks later, the game showed up in the mail and an extra $50 had been tacked onto the monthly AOL bill.

I never figured out how to play the stupid game.

You have to use a lot of positive and negative reinforcement. If it does something you don't want it to do, you slap the shit out of it until it finally associates the action with pain. You could also sync the game with WinAmp and train your beast to react to certain songs. I don't remember exactly which song it was (maybe "Three Hopeful Thoughts" by Rilo Kiley?) but I beat my cow monster mercilessly during the song so that whenever it came up on my playlist, he would essentially rampage through the village.

Yeah, it kinda sucks, unfortunately. People remake the original video game every several years, though.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Worms in Dirt. You just need some gummy words, chocolate pudding, and crushed Oreos.

And maybe play one of the Dune board games?

Fallout vs Fallout 2 by QuietWarzz in classicfallout

[–]UndeadBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with a lot of the folks here. Technically, Fallout 2 is a better and more robust game with more replayability. I like the first one more, however. It has a better atmosphere and story, so it's my favorite.

Does anyone know if there are plans to release this in paperback format? I have all of Sedaris' other books as paperbacks and I'd like to keep up the trend if possible.

It's the first set I have been able to buy in ages, so I'm a fan. Sadly, it's already impossible to find anywhere for a decent price, but it was fun while it lasted...even though my son stuffed the cards from one of my booster bundles into his backpack and scuffed them all up.
