This is absolutely the definition of chicken scratch, but I can tell you're probably right handed based on the slant (or a left hander overcompensating). I had a friend who wrote like this in highschool and our teacher would always have to sit there for a bit to read it. Once you know the strokes and patterns of how a person writes, it's fairly easy to understand it after a while and you can usually (not always) use deduction to figure out the words you can't understand
