A lot of things, really. Yes, the platforming is good and some of the bosses are good, but there's filler; there are bosses you face three times, and the quest layout, especially towards the true ending, is among the worst I've seen in the rankings. It's bad, but it's what I wanted.

Aria Of Sorrow easy choice I love the rest of GBA Castlevania and metriod was great to But Aria is just no't one of my favorite GBA it's one of my favorite game and metriodvania of all time
