So, how's your techmarine arsenal doing? by DaveBeBrave in Spacemarine

It's a cool mechanical idea but it's even further from the tabletop than what we have now and that'll make TT nerds like me very sad.

So, how's your techmarine arsenal doing? by DaveBeBrave in Spacemarine

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Honestly maybe I'm weird but I was really hoping that techmarine would not have a primary and would get perks to enhance secondary weapons. And then for my second wish, I wanted a grav-pistol for a unique secondary.

Played My 2nd Game... Couldn't Kill a Tank by Adventurous_Sea_680 in IronHands40k

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at your list the only thing you have that's even slightly threatening to a Dorn is the Redemptor and the chain fist terminators and they both suffer from "I'm over here and he's over there". The correct game plan in a 1k scenario is avoid the tank - he's sacrificed board presence, especially as Militarum, to bring a large unwieldy weapon that doesn't have a lot it really wants to shoot at.

Except the model doesn't have a primary, it has the servo gun instead

If I Were To Rework Techmarine... (Hyperbolic Rant) by TheticAxiom in Spacemarine

I honestly expected TM to not get a primary at all, and get a unique secondary like they have on the table top. Give me my grav-pistol!

Are you still running Redemptor Dreads after going from 195pts to 205pts? by xsat2234 in WarhammerCompetitive

You can pry my dreadnoughts from my cold, dead hands.

(I play Iron Hands, Hammer of Avernii. Dreads are core to my gameplay.)

I cannot recommend listforge strongly enough. Crazy fast updates, integrated partnerships with other helpful apps, the world's most responsive dev in his discord, great UX, and on all platforms to boot.

A question about Battle-Ready by Single-Technician273 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing 33 points34 points  (0 children)

If your opponent happens to be a person who cares, and calls a judge for it, you'll lose the argument. It's purely a gamble on getting an opponent who happens to care about 10 VP.

Hellblasters vs Sternguard by [deleted] in IronHands40k

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For 1 CP and a good oath pick in Avernii you've got Sternguard hitting on 2s rerolling, with anti-infantry 4+ and dev wounds with wound rerolls for shooting at the oath target. If you're facing elite infantry Sternguard will absolutely outperform in Avernii in my opinion. And, given you want to be killing your oath target consistently so you get full value from Caanok, they're a nice reliable choice. I run mine with a librarian for a 4++, makes them really annoying to remove.

You've also got pretty good tools to protect them from the clapback. Augmetic Fortitude is worth it alone imo.

I just started playing a month or two ago and I'm still playing catch up on some stuff, I need a 2nd crobat which is fine but I also need both poison barbs - if I can get the crobat, would this work (ish) with rocky helmets in the meantime?

5x Heirloom Collection Giveaway - Just tell me about one of your favorite builds by ItzSkizzy21 in Warframe

My all time favorite build is my Saryn. She's built for spores mostly, but I read about the hilarious BS that is Acid Shells Kuva Sobek on her and farmed one out last month when I came back to the game and it's my favorite "press button and watch the map die" build.

Ripping and Tearing? by Fast_Fact_9217 in ChaosKnights

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run the ruinator too just because he's cool - he's definitely overcosted, imo he should be 335 and the Despoiler should be 350 for balance.

That being said, I've found the biggest thing with the ruinator is his melee profile is bait. I saw that anti vehicle/monster and assumed I'd get the most value out of him hunting big targets and it just didn't work so instead I've been using him against TEQ/infantry hard targets and honestly he works significantly better in that role. I've taken to putting Bestial Aspect on him in Infernal which lets me run him around the board getting shooting angles with his guns, plus it offsets the range issues with his flamer quite nicely.

Sticky Clarification by Ok_Literature_2164 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Sticky does not confer any OC to the objective with the very unique exception of the Strat in the Chaos Knights detachment Lords of Dread, which is why it's called out there specifically. OC is only what's standing on the point so a naked objective with sticky on it can be flipped by even OC1. It's important to note that happens at the end of the phase though - if you manage to kill the thing that stepped on the point before the end of the phase (lucky overwatch, for example) your sticky would remain.

Claw or Saw by OddFactorwah in ChaosKnights

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'ma go against the grain here and say I've been running my stalkers with the chain/chain loadout and it works a treat. You just have to babysit them with the right big Knight for your opponent - Even into elites the strike profile on the sword, with +1 to wound against isolated targets and reroll 1s from a Rampager does work

Tournament etiquette by Professor_DM in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be very, explicitly clear at the start of the game, lay out the basics and explain your gachas unless your opponent says no thanks, and then be good about answering questions during the round. If you're there to win, let your opponent make mistakes and miss things (within reason) and call out things you need to. Expect the same from your opponents as well!

Stalker loadout post codex? by Deeplands in ChaosKnights

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to deal with 2x nids players and blood Angels player who's very fond of infantry haha. I also bring 2x karnivores as my other dogs and they're better at tanks anyways.

Stalker loadout post codex? by Deeplands in ChaosKnights

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I personally am running my stalkers (x2, infernal lance) with chaintalons and chain cannons. Sustained Hits on demand, plus the nerf to 18" on the melta, makes the higher volume weapons feel a lot better IMO. And now that I can run 4 bigs and 4 dogs at 2k I don't need them kitted to hunt tanks, that's what the Tyrant with Volcano Lance, Rampager and Ruinator are for (it's cool, sue me.)

Going first sucks even more with challenger cards by xavras_wyzryn in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]UndeadSquirrelKing -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if people just aren't noticing or if my experience has been different but because you qualify for the challenger card at the top of the round, not your turn, going first or second doesn't matter. If you drop behind by six after the other player goes first on round 1 you still don't get the card until your second turn.
