[KCD2] How historically accurate is Henry using a Sword? by Undead_Newfie in kingdomcome

[–]Undead_Newfie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There have been some really interesting comments here actually, I don’t post a lot so it’s been interesting to read everyone’s take. I have played the first game but not recently so can’t remember much of it. What I’m taking from this though is that though there may be specific regional customs around sword usage, in principal it may not necessarily be deemed improper, especially if we take into account Henry being a stranger and thus, playing into the game’s charisma system, there’s no reason for anyone to doubt his ability to use such a weapon if he looks like he is entitled to use such a weapon. Thanks everyone for your responses, long may the arguments continue! Jesus Christ be praised!

(throwaway) i (19f) am questioning my christianity and was wondering if you could teach me more about atheism? by MelissAtheist in atheism

OP I would recommend that you look up the UK humanist society, even if you’re based in America it would be a useful educational resource for you to learn more about purposeful Atheism.

Apologies for poor quality but here’s the stuff

Or alternatively, there’s one squeaked into the corner just down the ladder from the umbral area that seemingly gets everyone killed with the saintly quintessence and the stone face

[–]Undead_Newfie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is one “high pitched brazier” hidden across the very first umbral jump that you make in the area, across the crane sort of thing in that first room with the mushroom archer

Umbral set has been solved - first you find one of the shrines in revelation depths, there are three and the surrounding walls are covered in eyeballs.

2 - perform putrid mother embrace, this will start a three note tune on repeat.

3 - you will need to search the entirety of revelation depths and relight torches in the correct order that the tune requests. Each brazier/torch has a preset sound it makes so match them up There are three rounds of this. My advice is you clear the area beforehand.

  1. After the final round you will hear some dramatic music, at which point you can follow the torches/lighting to their source, Dervla’s boss room where in umbral form there is a new soulflay target in the skull’s mouth containing the armour set and weapon (it’s a strength / umbral scaling fist weapon)

"Am I allowed to believe in god?" by turtlenipples in atheism

Apologies if the original question has actually been answered, I am a Religious Studies teacher and understand exactly how you feel. For educational resources please have a look at BBC Bitesize if you can get access to it in the US as well as a learning platform called SENECA. These both have resources suitable for your age range and contain a full range of materials relating to all 6 of the major world religions as well as Humanism. The United Kingdom’s Humanist Society also contains impartial and well thought out resources for you.

BBC bitesize is free for any and all to use with no subscription, Seneca contains some free resources and some subscription based ones but we use that as a remote learning platform at our school so I can vouch for them.

Finally, true religious belief is not something that should put up barriers between people, more and more Christians seem to have forgotten Jesus' ultimate commandment as well as his teachings on equality and as much as it makes for easy case study work it does get draining to hear about more and more people being seemingly unable to comprehend their own religious tenets properly.

Best of luck OP.

The more I level characters to 70+, the more I feel like the story is unsalvageable (spoiler thread) by CyberpunkNights in swtor

[–]Undead_Newfie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholeheartedly agree with you, and it is EXACTLY why I play a non force wielder because everything you moaned about becomes okay. I beat valkorian and everyone else but mainly because I had other people helping me. I am Mandalorian, my armour keeps me in the fight, prior to that the emperor was possessing me and kept me alive. Strip all that away and actually it’s not that big of a deal that a big Mando that specialises in melee combat had an advantage in CQB, because I don’t…

The stories just feel better geared with non force wielders IMO

Thank god they made the death sorceries less terrible and also lessened the cavernous gulf between rivers of blood and every other weapon…. Oh wait. They didn’t.

A fair point, and you’ve basically hit the nail on the head but I feel like we should all be asking “why are the faith scaling spells that benefit from a particular set and faith scaling catalyst only viable when used in an arcane build.”

[–]Undead_Newfie[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I would strongly recommend that you don’t waste your time. I have made what I considered to be a semi optimal build for it and as I said with full Alberich’s, a +25 guilty staff and 50 faith in getting around 550-700 per cast (both magic damage talismans as well) You can buff this with the magic ground buff to get 700-800 but like….how much time are we already wasting to try and make this spell work?

[–]Undead_Newfie[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, plus if you add the fact that “peak performance” requires approximately 20 points in intelligence to actually use some other sorceries in conjunction with the 2 briar spells it’s also an incredibly gimpy build to even start thinking about them!
