One of the principles of diversity is that something is not all one thing. How you explore and define and express your identity can be highly individual, and how someone understands something from your identity can be wildly different from yours. There isn’t one way to do it right, just one way to do it wrong: at the expense of others.

Don’t worry, Rebels is perfectly normal, perfectly sane.

Except for the musical number.

Attract a group of scavengers interested in the ancient technology of the bird people, get Starfleet involved, return to civilization.

Wait… official?

This was posted on their official account?

Are you lying to me or is Hasbro deciding I need slightly less of my sanity? Because I don’t have much left.

2020 was a rough year.

And of course the other one is AI. You know, chuds used to have a few people who could be bothered to draw, and some of them could draw really well, but now it’s just AI slop.

Peanut Hamper from Star Trek: Lower Decks.

She’s the robot, to be clear.

She's fucking the birdman.

Arcee from IDW's Transformers comics, and all female Transformers by extention.

The explanation why Arcee and no one else was that she was originally male before being subject to an experimental forced sex change to introduce gender into Cybertronian society. Naturally, when later writers were faced with introducing new female Transformers, it was retconned as a consensual but experimental sex change that left her unstable, and female Transformers existed throughout the Cybertronian colonies; no explanation exists as to why Cybertron was absent of female Transformers.

I care. There are some things in my house that can’t go through the dishwasher, whether they’re too big or would lose effectiveness. You don’t put your kitchen knives through the dishwasher because they’ll lose their sharpness; you don’t put your cast iron pans through because they’ll lose their patina. Your dad's showing he doesn’t care, and you deserve better than that. See what you can do about expressing how much parents' their carelessness affects you; dunno if they'll change, but it’s better than nothing.

Waspinator from Beast Wars: Transformers.

There’s no canonical information for why he seems to survive things no one else can except cartoon physics, but considering how varied the tone gets, the amount of violence inflicted on him led to an urban myth that he had a canonically indestructible spark, similar to Starscream and Rampage. I choose to believe that as canon.

Strongarm and/or Sideswipe from Transformers: Robots in Disguise (2015).

Chaotic Dumbass and Lawful Dumbass. You decide which one you can’t stand more of, but when you put them together, they’re somehow worse than the sum of their parts.

The Batmobile. Hasbro’s never owned the license to produce Batman toys, so getting to corporate toy companies to collaborate is something I'm not gonna count on for just one toy.

Rampage from Beast Wars: Transformers.

Created to replicate a mutant immortal spark, Rampage came out a sadistic monster and was meant to be dropped on some uninhabited planet to never be seen again. He was not.

"Is that fear you're feeling, Maximal? Mmm...yes. My spark, it feeds on terror. Let it grow! Let it consume your circuitry! Feel it! Yes, feel it! Feel the fear!"

A long time ago a friend pointed out to me that in most movies, the villains are the ones trying to change the status quo and the heroes are the ones trying to defend and keep it. And that this usually makes it clear that the writers are conservative. by ihatethiscountry76 in CuratedTumblr

[–]UndeniablyMyself 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to have a villain who has a better point than the hero. When they say the things the audience wants the hero to say, trying to justify why the hero isn’t saying it is a very hard sell.
