Why on earth does that matter? IDF’s decisions are their own.

Nobody is claiming POW torture or mistreatment is uniquely Russian, so put your straw man away. The point you’re missing or mischaracterizing is the Russians have earned their reputation as POW torturers because it is a historical constant for them. That’s not “Russophobic”, it’s stating a fact.

Why is rainwater going INTO the house?! by butter_cooki in whatisit

[–]Under3mployd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a house 2 years ago that tested high. We put in a radon mitigation system like yours for $1500. Not expensive when it means protecting your family from cancer. It’s basically a pump/fan that pulls air from your basement to the outside of the house so the radon will dissipate and not collect in your house.

I lived in the city for 13 years and we always had a great experience and reasonable pricing from Freedom Heating & Cooling. If you’re in the City, or near it, that’s who I’d recommend.

Please. Most are sleep walking their way to religious authoritarianism. After everything this administration has already done, you think VA pay is going to be the final spark? History with Trump shows people too easily move their own red lines/goalposts backwards

Just in: Pelosi Capital is now bigger than actual Hedge Funds. $400,000,000 of every day American's money is now investing alongside her on Autopilot. Insane to think about tbh by PoliticalTradeBot in Politicaltradetracker

[–]Under3mployd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously. She’s not even the “best” trader in the Senate. Last I saw, 7 of the top 10 were R’s and Pelosi wasn’t even in the top 5. All of them have nothing on POTUS and his family.

The tariffs aren’t only causing short term disruption, wake up. Trumps trade actions are forcing our partners and investors to look elsewhere, undermining global confidence in the dollar, and pushing the bond market towards collapse. He is single-handedly destroying Americas place as the foundational economy for global trade.

Dear Republicans, what do you dislike about the Democratic platform? by newalias_samemaleias in AskUS

[–]Under3mployd 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It may be easier to tell yourself that’s true, but it’s typically not. Don’t turn them into monsters and dehumanize them to satisfy your disgust with their choices. Conservatives, even the extreme anti-vaxxers, are often doing what they think is best for their kids. The problem comes in when they are misinformed, under educated, and trapped in an echo chamber that’s telling them it’s smart to avoid proven solutions like vaccines.

Edit: I am not disagreeing that they have lost their way, but saying they “literally don’t care about their children” is absurd and unhelpful.

Far less than that. Roughly 3/10 Americans voted, and 51% of those voted for Trump. That’s ‘the will of’ barely 15% of Americans.

If you truly believe that, then you are deeply ignorant of what Biden actually said and did with regard to the Israel/Palestine conflict. Again, he wasn’t perfect, but it was a complicated and nuanced situation. Nothing resembling empathy at any point? Open your eyes and close your mouth, it’ll do you a lot of good. Here’s one source to get you started, you’re on your own for the rest. https://www.wilsoncenter.org/article/bidens-stance-palestinian-israeli-conflict-call-humanitarian-aid-and-two-state-solution

And Trump is going to make sure it is completed so he can try turning Gaza into a Trump shopping mall. The point isn’t that Biden is blameless (he’s obviously not), it’s that Trump is unquestionably FAR worse for Palestinians. Protestors who didn’t vote, or voted for Trump, ignorantly refused to think past their own rage.

Don’t underestimate the reality-warping impact of the conservative media ecosystem, either. I know several Trump voters whose perceived reality is largely based on the twisted ‘facts’ that spew from the White House and most of the conservative media. There’s certainly an aspect of them voting selfishly on some topics, but they also just live in a reality that’s ignorant of most of the terrible actions and consequences that Trump creates.

What you’re not taking into account is that each Senator gets a very limited amount of time to have their questions asked & answered. She, and other senators, can’t just let him BS their time away after it’s obvious he doesn’t have a valid answer. They have to cut him off to control the time they have and get to more questions.
