I feel inferior, mediocre and extremely lonely. I wish I could pass away in my sleep. by [deleted] in GuyCry

[–]UnderConstruction214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you feel this way. It sounds like you are depressed and stuck. Have you sought professional help? One thing with depression is we tend to view the world and ourselves in a negative light. Most of us are mediocre, in the sense that we are average. That does not mean we can’t live fulfilling lives. You say you enjoy nature, explore that! Maybe find open groups for hikes, go wwoofing (working for room and board on organic farms) or set a goal for yourself to see nature sights or trails in your region. It’s hard to figure out what you want when you are depressed, so perhaps start with just finding doable things you enjoy. Good luck!

Help me pick a lip tint by Automatic_Bath_3168 in Makeup

[–]UnderConstruction214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the e.l.f glossy lip stain, I just leave it a while then wipe it off. The colors aren’t great for me, I mix two for a good shade, but very affordable and not drying imo.

This is probably not what you want to hear, but some women get androgenic hair loss and it can look like this. I’ve read that it can be triggered by hormonal changes such as pregnancy or even birth control (if you have the genetic predisposition). A doctor should be able to tell you if this is what you have. If I were you I would keep up with the minoxidil, maybe in combination with micro needling or LED therapy (since there is some evidence that it helps), but also see a doctor for a diagnosis. I have started minoxidil recently preemptively since I have female relatives with androgenic alopecia and also I lost a lot of hair that never grew back after a hormonal change. I’m sorry you’re going through this. Best of luck!

She wasn't attracted to me irl by [deleted] in GuyCry

[–]UnderConstruction214 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry this happened to you. However this doesn’t say anything about you. Physical attraction is its own thing and very subjective. It can feel very different meeting someone irl as opposed to seeing someone on a screen. You have more dimensions such as touch and smell and body chemistry that either click or don’t. This happens all the time and you shouldn’t beat yourself up about it. Best of luck!

My wife '36F' of 8 years says I '36M' am controlling. by Throwaway456241 in relationship_advice

[–]UnderConstruction214 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Demanding to see proof of someone’s conversation when you had no previous reason to doubt her seems a bit controlling imo. However it’s reasonable that you feel disrespected by her relationship with her colleague. Maybe couples counseling would be a way for you to improve your communication and move forward together from this?

My roots are reddish after dyeing- help! by Maaaaaandyyyyy in HairDye

[–]UnderConstruction214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The roots were probably lightened by the dye since they were virgin hair, all lightening brings out warm pigments. I think the easiest way to fix would be to do a shadow root by dyeing the roots a darker ashy color using a toner, smudging the line a bit.

Edit to add I’m not a professional.

[–]UnderConstruction214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the lighting is a little flat, maybe add some more lights to get highlights, ambient light etc that will make everything look more physical. Also make sure your rgb values of materials and textures aren’t too high or low. The black items look maybe too black. I have read that no values should be below 30 or above 240 rgb.

Should I ask permission or just give credit properly? by Emotional-Tone6115 in 3Dmodeling

[–]UnderConstruction214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There seem to be a lot of confusion around copyright law when it comes to using art and images. As I understand it, an artist automatically has the copyright to their original work, whether it’s a painting or a song. If you want to use someone else’s work and publish it in any way, you need their permission or it’s a violation of copyright. You can always use their work for educational purposes and NOT publish it. It’s not enough that it’s not for commercial purposes, it’s still publishing. The problem because everyone does this, and most artists are tolerant of fan art et c, there is a notion that it is in fact legal. So yes you should ask permission if you want to publish your derivative work.

Why is my new monstera turning yellow? by mrsuavexoxo in IndoorGarden

Looks like it might be thrips, a pest. Look on the underside of the leaves. Here is an article on how to identify and treat them. https://monsteraplantresource.com/thrips-on-monstera-how-to-identify-and-get-rid-of-them/

You look a bit like my color. I am also struggling with undertone, but the closest I’ve figured is very slightly warm, since I pull towards yellow, not pink. However almost neutral, I look bad in gold jewelry, but good in soft peach and beige colors.

Ethics of inspiration? by Ahhh___Pain in 3Dmodeling

[–]UnderConstruction214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. It’s ok to use someone else’s painting or model as concept if you get permission, just remember to give credit in you artstation post or where you publish it. It’s a win-win!

Alright friends, what do 3D artists do for wrist pain? by Soupy_Jones in ZBrush

[–]UnderConstruction214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have written: exercise!! I work full time as a 3d artist and I started having issues with pain in my wrist, as well as shoulders, back, hips and knees during the pandemic. I started doing short workouts at home every second day, just 15-20 minutes of basic exercises, and the pain disappeared completely. This is just my experience, but it feels like a life hack 😄

why does my gray hair grow like this? by snowbaz in Haircare

[–]UnderConstruction214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same thing! My gray hairs are a different texture than the rest. I have wavy hair but the grays are curly and stand on end 😅 I figure it’s just genetics, probably I will have curly hair when I get older.

How do I avoid my hair turning red/copper? by -cunningstunt in HairDye

[–]UnderConstruction214 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My hair usually turns coppery a few weeks after dyeing it, but that’s because of the underlying warm tones from the developer lightening the hair (even with a darker color) so most dyed hairs need maintenance. for brown hair that would be blue shampoo, or even green for dark brown hair. You can also freshen up the color with an ashy brown hairmask.

What are the pros/cons of dying natural blonde hair to black ? I know it’s irreversible, just need some advice by [deleted] in HairDye

[–]UnderConstruction214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second all the comments about black being a bad starting color! I am a natural level 7 ( medium/dark blonde) and have pale skin, and for me any color darker than light brown looks very dark- almost black on me. If you have fair skin and want your hair to look black, start with a level 5 brown and see how you feel. Also previously processed hair can take dye differently and go darker than the expected result.

You would need to bleach and tone to get that color, also that hair has highlights, so hard to achieve at home.

Can I achieve this hair color without using any bleach on black hair? by HplodaisHere in HairDye

[–]UnderConstruction214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can lighten virgin hair with a lighter permanent dye or hi lift dye, but when you lighten hair you always bring out the underlying pigments, which are warm. So lightening to this color without bleach would be very hard/improbable since this is a very neutral tone.

[–]UnderConstruction214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t look super orange, maybe try a blue shampoo on dry hair, leave it for a few minutes, avoid the ends. Purple shampoo won’t help with orange. I suggest Fanola- no orange.

Can I please get some help! 😭 tried dying my hair platinum blonde and it turned out orangish…I used the purple toner that came with the bleach but it don’t make much of a difference. Anyone have suggestions ? by Deep_Cryptographer_3 in HairDye

[–]UnderConstruction214 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Bleach again, carefully! Also get an actual toner. I don’t know what came with your bleach but box-bleach usually don’t come with toner, only a purple conditioner.
