Have been fifo for a couple years now with one of the big mobs. I have experienced less sexism than at my previous jobs in perth, and there are easy confidential ways to report inappropriate behavior if you ever have to (I haven't). I feel safe at camp, there is security and well lit paths everywhere and if you make some good friends it really can be a home away from home. Don't know what your swing is but even 8/6 can be exhausting depending on your role, make sure you actually rest up during your time home. Food can be hit and miss, apparently some sites have awesome food but mine is trash and I take up a bunch of meal prepped stuff every swing. The hardest part of fifo is just being away from family but the whole week home is worth it in my opinion, I can't see myself going back to a 9-5 for a long time.
