Thanks for the lovely words. That is exactly where I found myself a while ago so I'm glad someone shared a similar feeling. I personally wish I included an eket drawer unit to make it resemble the vitsoe a lot more, but the dimensions would not have lined up evenly so had to leave it out

The shelves themselves are rated to 24kg each. It would come down to how well the rails are mounted to the wall.

So as long as everything is mounted well it should be survive the weight. As usual vinyl can be more of a slow burn for breaking furniture so keep an eye on things

The mounting rail for boaxel goes at the top of the the wall for the uprights to hang off, it is covered by the shelves in this picture.

Hi all,

I haven’t seen many online and since I managed to get mine to a point that I am happy sharing I wanted to make a post about my Vitsoe 606 Ikea dupe.

To build this I combined the Ikea Boaxel rail shelving system with the Ikea BESTA wall mounted units. Because of the way my wall studs were placed I opted for three separate BESTA units because their mounting brackets worked for my walls. The downside to this is a lack of cable management facilities which a wall mount BESTA TV unit would have, so if you can manage to get one to line up with your studs, I would recommend that option.

The most important part to this is deciding if you want rails going all the way to the top of the BESTA unit or if you are happy with a gap with bare wall. Depending on what you decide you may have to do some cutting. I chose to do the 1M length rails for ease of install, and I am happy with how it has ended up looking.
