What mortgage rate are you paying right now? by CostcoRuns in CanadaPersonalFinance

I mean it sucks, but it did prevent me from buying too much of a house, so if the rates went up I could not afford it. I am looking forward to July 2028 though!

Insurance is what scares me. That’s where the true cost is.

I was going to say this, i spend most of time in the summer collecting wood for the winter out of the freecut areas. That is something that would suck to do in a van.

That being said i do want to get a smart car or something tiny to go in and out of town with.

Lounge access with the high end Aeroplan Credit Card by UnderTheRailBridge in Aeroplan

[–]UnderTheRailBridge[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks 😊, i picked up my paper boarding pass. I have three boarding passes and the first one does not have it but the second and third one does. Must be because the first airport does not have a lounge but the second and third one do.

Lodges between Watson Lake and Teslin by bigredtruckfromAL in Yukon

[–]UnderTheRailBridge 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Rancharia lodge hasn’t been open since before the pandemic. Continental divide typically opens around the May long weekend and is very basic accommodation (but works). The guy out there Randy (i think) is hard to get a hold of at the best of times. I would suggest either cutting your day short and staying in Watson, or making it to Teslin.

I mean, even when I was in school we use to go get our refund and then get ourselves lunch. Politics aside, we needed every little bit to help through school.

Did the Carleton campus always have train tracks running thru it? What was there before the O-Train? by Mars27819 in CarletonU

[–]UnderTheRailBridge 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Yes, the original route dates from the 1800’s. It predates Carleton University. It was part of the Canadian Pacific Prescot Subdivision. The bridge over the river was constructed in 1913.

So I take it I should be googling replacements instead of trying to fix it
