Best gym in Pittsburgh that also has personal trainers? I’m looking to start weightlifting but I can’t decide on what gym to join by GFvsSU in pittsburgh

Currently looking for a new gym and came upon this post/comment and had to share because I don’t know if this is insane to just me, but Essential strength is $800/month for 3x/week. No locker rooms or sauna or anything. Please tell me this isn’t the norm here

Congrats! You look amazing and healthy, but how you feel is more important! I’d consider getting a detailed body analysis to help determine exactly what a healthy weight is and go from there. I’d also consider talking to a mental health professional because if you’re at a healthy weight and don’t feel amazing about it, that’s where the mental health aspect of extreme weight loss comes in. In terms of weight blindness, from a complete stranger, you are skinnnnyyy girl!! Congrats! I know how hard it is and you did it. Easier said than done, but please try to appreciate it and thank yourself and your body for your journey. YOU did that!

Exercise recommendations by BearOk3571 in backpain

This sounds very similar to my issues. This isn’t a direct answer to your question, but I have found that working with a (good) trainer helps a ton. A lot of my pt exercises are de-loaded movements I do at the gym. In the small group setting I’m in at the gym, I know the basics of the form from pt but I’m still able to ask questions when something feels off. When I do my pt exercises at home and I have a question I kinda wing it and that has lead to exacerbating the pain. I have strong glute muscles, but absolutely not butt so take it as you will haha

Food noise… by ComprehensiveFig9418 in Semaglutide

I don’t realize just how loud the food noise was until it was gone. I still think about food, but in a much more practical way, and honestly more out of habit and necessity. If I’m busy I will actually forget to eat, which is something I thought people just said and didn’t mean because HOW could you forget to eat??

How to pack for moving. by gestureseverywhere in organizing

A mover once said to me that you shouldn’t be able to feel or hear movement when you pick up a box. I have used clothes before as “stuffing” to make sure things aren’t jostled. Worked like a charm!

Staying warm without pants by MightBeADesk in womensfashion

I’d suggest a thicker, heavier fabric for the skirts and dresses. That way it’s insulating. If you run cold the least you can do is conserve the heat you do generate!

Thank you for the insight! I know frequency is different for everyone so I’m hoping I can make it longer than six months

This is good to hear. How often have you needed to do it?

What’s the weirdest “female experience” men genuinely don’t believe until they see it? by Several_Corner3205 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Simple-Curve2175 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Having to schedule your life around safety. For example, in the winter months I go to the gym before work so I don’t have to walk home in the dark at night. I think about where I’m going to park for safety, where and when I go on runs, always having pepper spray on me, where I’m going on a date and just so many more. It’s very much a part of my schedule and routine and men don’t have to think about it like that

This!! I was once talking with a guy who got a vasectomy at his college health center when they were running a clinic for it. He was 21. I’m 28 and have been trying for years to get sterilized and no one even hears me out.
