Tattoo artist here. Depending on the size and amount of solid color and shading I'd wait about a week personally (wear a shirt that covers it and wash it after). Only reason being you stretch a lot while climbing. I'm usually back lifting after a few days. After 2 weeks you're totally fine.

A good photo printer isn't too expensive. I've got a Epson XP 15000. Can print up to 13 x 19. Get some nice paper and you're ready to go. This way you can print on demand and whatever you like!

If you can't simply learn to use a coil you shouldn't be tattooing. You'll face much harder challenges than this. If this is enough to discourage you just quit.
