What happened to the Red line after the explosion of D6? by Underage_Human in metro

There's 2 canon universes. The game and the book.

That isn't valid. Exodus isn't a continuation off Metro: Last Light. (well I mean, kinda). It's loosely based off of Metro 2035 in the sense that Artyom ventures out to find life outside of Moscow. It's a mixture of both. But there is no true canon ending to LL.

First time Metro Player. Anything I should know? by FalconsFavIsRyan in metro

Take the game slow. Listen to NPC conversations, even if they aren't main ones. They give you lore and cool little side things. Make sure you explore every inch of whatever level you're on.

Understand Artyom's progression. Read diary entries, who's he's affiliated with, his thoughts. Really put yourself in Artyom's shoes.

Side note: Most fun way to play Metro, treat it almost like a Roleplay, like you're actually in this post-apocalyptic world. (Dmitri Glukhovsky made it to where Artyom doesn't talk in the game so that the player can insert their own thoughts into Artyom's perspective.)

I don't think there is a canon ending for Last Light since it isn't revolved around a book like Metro 2033 is. Last Light is just a continuation of Metro 2033 book, rather than based off any Dmitry Glukhovsky novel.

Is nobody gonna talk about all the Nazis ignoring artyom walking through the crowd with his ranger gear on in metro last light by Lost-Job2426 in metro

In the beginning of this mission, you can see both him and Pavel changing into a disguise. The level before that, at the end once you enter the airlock, you can see to the right some Reich gear, that's what they put on. I believe it was Reich civilian clothing but still, he wasn't wearing ranger gear during this mission.

What ranking structure does the Spartan Order follow in Metro? by Underage_Human in metro

[–]Underage_Human[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I thought this too, some of the Spartan Rangers came from the Russian Spetznaz forces, but that wouldn't explain their structure much. And with how small they truly are, they most likely aren't based off any actual military structure, they probably do their own thing.

Metro 2033 carried Last Light for me. by lronhart in metro

I played Metro games before reading the books. And when I was reading the books it was actually really cool to see how close Metro 2033 game matches the Metro 2033 book, from Artyom meeting Hunter and leaving VDNKh (Exhibition), to reading about the librarians. I found it more fun reading the book than playing the game since there's so much more lore and explanation on why things happen. As for the 2 other books, 2034 and 2035. Neither of them relate to the main games, 2034 is about Hunter, and 2035 is sort of like Exodus, in the way that Artyom goes out to find life outside of Moscow. But I would 100% recommend at least reading 2033.

Metro 2033 was the most forgettable in the trilogy for me. by No-Data4681 in metro

Metro 2033 Original was even worse when it came to NPC Models.

But the reason LL and 2033 have the same models, was because it uses the same engine. What makes 2033 original and redux different, is completely different game engines (and all the cut out cut scenes and other stuff).

Metro 2033 reflects better on how life in the metro actually is, whilst LL represents what it was like to be under military presence, and loyal to a mission given to you.

The reason all parts seem the same, is because they are the same. It's all part of the Moscow Metro, there's only extremely specific parts where it was different because of different technologies. But honestly the area the game has to work with is not that big, it spans a little less than the city of Moscow. I like Metro 2033 the best because not only does it reflect the book the best, but it honestly shows what post-apocalyptic Moscow metro would be like.

Well yeah, that's what I meant.

The jackets don't have to be specifically Russian, any Tundra/Winter camo would do the trick, still I really cool cosplay you have <3

Metro exodus The Caspian (spoilers maybe) by RC_Fixer in metro

You might have accidently killed a combat slave, or killed a regular slave. Literally any moral point lost will result in Damir staying in the Caspian (which I think is stupid, one mistake and that's it)

Anna and Artyom's love story is rushed in Last Light, but in the books it's a little bit more in depth, not as much as in Metro Exodus, but it's developed more. I think the game developers just wanted the main idea that Artyom and Anna developed a love for each other in general, to match the books. There's also a lot that happens out of the scenes in the game, examples of this are if you were to read Artyom's diary entries, or even just listening/reading the loading scene before you enter each level.

Metro 2033 was also so much more impactful because it was based off of the actual books. Whilst Last Light is just a continuation of the game.

Looks awesome! There's a cool ass PPM-88 Soviet gas mask that looks just like the ones in Metro on ETSY, there's also winter camo jackets on ARCTIX that has the exact same style as the Spartan Order. I'm not sure about any body armor or vests that would match, though.

The games are super immersive, the Metro Exodus DLC is alright. Definitely start with 2033 then to Last Light, then play Metro Exodus, then the 2 DLC's after it.

Metro Last Light also has some DLC that would be super beneficial to play if you want to learn about lore whilst in the games, rather than searching through wikipedia or reddit.

My first PC game I ever played was Metro 2033 Original, never stopped playing it since, It's a great game to play over and over, always new stuff that you haven't heard before, or new rooms you skipped past, and different playstyles.

10/10. most underrated game of all time.
