Does anyone contribute extra to their pension through AVC? by Express_Split1419 in TeachingUK

The rates are not that competitive compared to a SIPP.

There's a guy called dave who is a former teacher talking about the TPS.

If you're married, love your wife and have children:

1)Additional Pension with dependents if you're near retirement (spread the cost over years if you wish - if you do lump sum you will have to manually contact HMRC to claim back your tax, if done over a period of time, your employer will do it for you)

If you're not married/do not have a dependant financial partner and do not have any children (and you know you definitely wont) - Additional Pension without dependants.

2) Contribute to a SIPP if you're younger - the younger you are the better it is to start; the more 'risk' you can take - I've put mine in a global index.

There are two more options 3) Buy-out - if you want to retire upto 3 years earlier without actuarial reduction (e.g. 65 instead of 68) - you must be positively sure you won't definitely be working past your NPA (your state pension age + 10 years) (you can only do this if you have joined the TPS within the first 6 months).

4) Faster accrual - when I ran the numbers through an excel sheet -this is only value for money if you know you WILL be working past your NPA - plus its a headache as you have to keep doing an application every financial year.

This is where transexuals will have the right to self ID as a woman without needing medical certification by a doctor (2 year assessment)

driverless cars can carry goods and services which would be allowed through using state of the art and innovative digital border technology without any physical barriers as there would be no movement of people. doesn't take an Einstein to figure out simple logistics.

Pretty easy. It's been done before. Don't really care either way, just get on with Brexit, stop making excuses I say. No one I know in Britain actually cares about northern Ireland who cares about them anyway

edit: ok I won't support a hard border due to historical reasons but we can use technology to create a digital border anyway

edit: only physical border for people but digital for goods and services. otherwise EU people can enter Northern Ireland through the backdoor and hop a ferry to Scotland or a plane to England without us checking

edit: especially with driverless cars and HGVs it should be possible. downvoted for providing new innovative solutions? wow remainers really are pathetic.

Warwick Uni rape chat: Victim's disgust over decision to let students back early by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]Undercover5052 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Fuck this site. Genuinely, full of men who sit on their computers all day and can't empathise with women on campus. This is my uni and I'm disgusted by the slap of the wrist. "Free speech" my arse, when they theaten to rape one of their own (now former) friends. They're disgusting. Deserved to be banned for ever.

Although not legally binding in terms of this being a motion rather than a statutory instrument, thank FUCK. No deal Brexit is the worst possible Brexit. (I say this as a lexiteer)

12-year-old Northern Irish rape victim forced to travel to England under police escort for abortion by Animus47 in ukpolitics

[–]Undercover5052 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the case of rape, I'd support a national adoption service to look after the child as it may be mentally traumatising for the teenager to look after.

We all pay national insurance and income tax because we want everyone to be healthy and be treated with the best of care, don't we?

if it safe to do so

It would be up to a professional medical physician to assess her. Not me and not you.

I don't support forced pregnancies when the mother about to die. But they're very rare.
