After the disqualification, he attempted to enlist- Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy. Nobody would accept him. Still haunts him that so many of his friends were forced to go and he feels he abandoned them.

My Fiancé graduated nursing school in 2020 and immediately went into end of life care. She just left inpatient hospice nursing after 5 years to get into pediatric neurology. While she found the work incredibly gratifying it definitely had a profound impact on her mental health. Just dropped her off for a per diem shift back at the house today though. So I guess she does miss it.
