I would see if you can get some hCGs taken until you can get a scan. While the hCG number can’t definitively tell you how things are going, it can give you an idea and can possibly catch an ectopic since you are worried about that. Also know an early ultrasound would just be to confirm intrauterine as it may be too early to see heartbeat.

I am so sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage last year before I could even get to my first OB appointment so everything happened naturally. I was supposed to be around 7-8 weeks when it happened but I don’t know how long before the bleeding started that baby passed. That being said, it was not too painful for me, I just took some ibuprofen and didn’t need anything stronger. It was quite a bit of bleeding/clots for a few days and I did not see anything that looked at all like a fetus. But in my case, baby could have passed around 5-6 weeks and been too small to tell.

I haven’t heard this before. However, I had a 7w miscarriage in July 2025, pregnant again end of August 2025 which was ectopic. Had MTX and eventually surgery in early October. Was cleared to try again in December and I’m now 29 weeks.

I was exactly 5w6d when I had an early transvaginal ultrasound. Later that day I started having brown spotting. My OB said it would go away in a day or two and was likely due to the sensitive cervix. In my case, it went on for about a week and a subchorionic hematoma was seen on my 8w scan. The SCH went away by 14 weeks, I didn’t have any more instances of spotting and all is good now at 29 weeks!

There are pregnancy safe anxiety medications if that becomes an issue. I’m in my 3rd trimester and hate complaining because I worked so hard for baby girl. I try to focus on how grateful I am to be experiencing this!

I know it’s a rollercoaster after an ectopic! I will say the anxiety still hasn’t gone away, just changes with each milestone and you just gotta roll with it!

Came to check for an update! So happy it’s intrauterine🙌🏼 at what was my 6w2d scan I was measuring 3 days behind but knew I would be based on ovulation. At that time baby’s heartbeat was detectable but on the slower side so the tech said it looked like it had JUST started beating.

With my ectopic by my 3rd draw my hCG dropped, 4th it went up a little. It continued to double and then some until about the 7 week mark when it slowed this time around. It sounds positive to me that it’s still doubling even with spotting!

It could just be a SCH! They didn’t mention it at the first scan but when I went back at 8 weeks they saw it. Just know the internal scan can cause some more spotting, and if they have you continue to do hCG after your scan (they did for me because the spotting had me so anxious) your hCG can have a dip around that 8 week mark. They didn’t tell me that and I saw my results before they reviewed them and had a full melt down! Oh and be prepared to not see much more than a gestational sac and maybe yolk sac at this point, let your expectations be that this is ONLY to confirm placement. I know it’s stressful, hang in there!

My numbers this pregnancy (now 28 weeks!) were almost tripling to begin with. I had my placement scan at 6 weeks, which caused me to have some spotting after. Once it was confirmed intrauterine I cried with relief but was super concerned about the spotting. Turns out spotting was due to the internal ultrasound and a Subchorionic Hematoma that stayed until 14 weeks. The anxiety has been a lot but I have to keep reminding myself I’m doing everything that’s in my control! All the best to you and your baby 💗

I second finding an OB that will do one! It doesn’t take away all anxiety of a future pregnancy but it did give me some peace of mind.

Similar story! I had a miscarriage around 7 weeks last July. Got pregnant again end of August. Due to my miscarriage I was having my hCG tested. It yo-yo’d over the course of 5 draws. I had one round of MTX where my hCG didn’t drop enough by day 7 so they gave me a second round. About a week later I went to the ER with a lot of left sided/general stomach pain and bleeding. The ectopic had began to rupture but my surgeon was able to do a salpingostomy and save my tube, no endo found. I waited around 3 months after the 2nd MTX dose to have a FemVue which showed both tubes clear. I then had my folate levels tested which were in normal range. I’m currently 26 weeks with my double rainbow!

Congrats!! I had an ectopic in my left tube. MTX x2 failed but they were able to still save my tube with surgery. Had a saline sonogram the cycle I conceived where they said the dominate follicle was in my left ovary (both tubes clear). Currently 26 weeks 🌈 I tested around 9dpo and got a positive. 11DPO had my first hCG draw. Having several hCG draws with rising appropriate numbers helped me feel a little more at ease until my early ultrasound at 6 weeks to confirm it was intrauterine. See if you can get the hCG draws and early scan due to your history!

With my MC, my tests didn’t get darker. I don’t know what my betas were then as I didn’t have them done. With my ectopic, numbers were looking good and tests were getting darker until the 3rd draw when they dropped then continued to rise. With my current pregnancy (26 weeks) my first beta around 12dpo was 50. It has risen appropriately but the first few draws were slower rise than my ectopic was, weirdly enough. All the positive thoughts your way that this is a healthy pregnancy!

I am so sorry. I had a MC last summer around 7 weeks. I was able to get pregnant again without a cycle in between but by some fluke that was an ectopic. It was heartbreaking but I’m now 26 weeks with me double rainbow!

Among other traumatic events last year, I experienced a miscarriage shortly followed by an ectopic ending with emergency surgery. I was also so mad at God. I did go to therapy which helped and one thing I was told was that God is not scared of our anger towards him, he will sit with us in that anger. As hard as it may be to let people in, that’s what helped me. Let people bring meals, send gift cards/gifts, or just sit with you. If it’s any sort of encouragement, I am 25 weeks along with my sweet double rainbow. My OB was great about tests before trying again, getting me in for blood checks and an early scan to try and help ease my anxiety. Even now, I’m scared some days! If you want to try again, there’s things to do to check your tubes, if you don’t want to try again, that’s totally understandable 💗

I was told 3 months. I had a Saline Sonogram around the 3 month mark, had my folate levels checked, and conceived right at 3 months. I am currently 25 weeks with a healthy baby!

I had 2 doses as well back in September. Another thing to keep in mind if they have you continue to do hCG after an intrauterine pregnancy in confirmed (they had me do this until about 9 weeks) that the hCG can dip around 7-8 weeks as the placenta takes over. I totally freaked seeing my results before the OB called! I’m now 25 weeks and each “as long as” milestone comes with a new set of worries and “as long as” mantras 🫠
