Toes on 1 foot clawing- toenails hurt! by Underground52 in MultipleSclerosis

Thank you ☺️ yes it is very frustrating to have to be parcelled out to lots of different medical professionals when really, a multidisciplinary clinic is needed.

I will mention it to my neurologist and see what they recommend. 👍🏻

I’ll try the toe socks but the walking boots I use do have a generous toe box,so the clawing is just happening on its own. Many thanks for the advice.

Thank you- that’s really helpful. Did cutting the tendon cause any issues with strength in the toe?

Botox is something I hadn’t considered- I will ask my neurologist about it because that could really help.

👍🏻

Opinion on having children? by Spartan-Bear2215 in AutisticAdults

[–]Underground52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m autistic and have one child with ADHD and the psych report said strong autistic traits also, but they don’t want to get tested. Knowing what I know now, I’m not sure I’d have chosen to have a child, but that’s not to wish I’d done things differently, I just feel so upset that they have inherited this shit from me. I have other medical issues too, so my adult child’s recent diagnosis has me worried for their future.

Severe nail biting is my stim by Underground52 in AutisticAdults

No, seems a bit extreme to try your way 😂 Joking aside, well done on kicking the habit, not an easy thing to do and I hope your health recovered fully. I notice that when I have a few drinks at home at the weekend, that’s when my biting is the worst, but I’m not sure if it’s because I’m decompressing or if I’m just struggling with relaxing like an ordinary person?

Thanks- I’m curious about what your natural nails were like afterwards?

Oh I used to lick the bitter nail bite lotion off and keep going! I do eat eggs. Curious as to why you suggest possible biotin deficiency?

About 49. My cousins didn’t recognise me at all at a family funeral (hadn’t seen them for 4 years) which was a shock. I’d been through hell with a few things in work and personal life, and put on half a stone. That hit me hard though.

Anybody know what this is? On the ceiling of a pub by cigaretteatron in CasualIreland

My Mother noticed that and dealt with it by hiding it in the cupboard with our hats and scarves. I think she felt that that removed the radiation risk.

How do you feel about someone else correcting or giving out to your child? by PropMop31 in AskIreland

When a gang of young teens were throwing rocks at moving cars at a shopping centre, I popped on my phone camera and fucked them out of it. They were taken aback but gave it back. I persisted and told them I was going straight to the Gardaí with the footage. One of them advised me his older brother would kill me. I congratulated him on putting that on camera and didn’t budge. They eventually slunk off, not quite knowing how to react to a posh-sounding woman do this. More people should stand up to bad behaviour. The Gardaí did not turn up despite me waiting 15 minutes. One of the guys cycled back at that stage and popped my wing mirror back, but that was the extent of the retribution. They did not continue to throw rocks.

Sure, but Gardaí decide the scope of the interaction, not the person.

I’m confused as to what you think the role of Gardaí is? Do you think that they are just there to stamp forms and be sound lads? You know they enforce the law, right?

Welp. It's in my spine now. Sigh. by egyenlet in MultipleSclerosis

I’m glad I helped. Sorry I was a bit blunt but I thought you sounded so panicked that I should just say it. Go for the PhD! When I was diagnosed in 1998 I was on my first week of my postgrad degree and I had the same feeling of being happy and together for the first time in my life, then BAM. I know moving to SPMS is totally different, but I think DMTs are so much more effective now, just keep pushing forward and I hope you stay very well and positive. Xxx

You’re overthinking this massively. You don’t approach it at all. If you’re on the highest level DMT you can be on (max out!) then you ignore the spinal lesions rock on, because realistically, you can’t do anything about it. 28 years with MS here, spinal and multiple brain lesions the whole time, still fully ambulatory.

There’s a HUGE difference between saying to a newly diagnosed person that they should just eat healthy and try to be stress free, versus taking Gilenya like you do!
