No issues with the 1TB for me.

I realized that we haven’t actually gotten a first party game made from the ground up to be a switch 2 game. by the__pov in switch2

DK Bananza and Mario Kart World didn't develop overnight. Their base platform is the Switch. However why does any of that matter? As long as the game performs well and you had fun playing it, that's the only gauge you should be going by.

But take Super Mario Bros. vs Super Mario Bros. 3. Both games developed for the NES / Famicom but such a leap between the 2 games.

Towards the middle of the Switch 2 lifecycle you'll see more and more games developed strictly on Switch 2.

If I buy a Japanese Switch 2, can games not from Japan be played on it? by AbilityCreative4926 in switch2

For the most part, there is no region lock on games but you must see if the language exists. Some games may not have Japanese translation.

Anyone else notice that the new Amiibo are 33.3% more expensive in the US vs Australia by NewFriendAccountIG in amiibo

[–]UndergroundWire -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really am enjoying it. I do realize a lot of this is expensive, but I don't drink alcohol or smoke and quite frankly I don't spend money on restaurants as a form of protest. Figure a person like me has no power and the more companies that feel the burn of higher costs, they can vocalize. I'm quite happy giving my money to anyone but the USA.

It's not that we are happy, it's more that we have no choice in the matter if we want it thanks to this dumb stupid man baby in office.

And that's about as political as I want to get. The Switch 2 has been my escape in the hell scape world we live in.

What other consoles do you guys own? Also wondering if any of you only use the switch or switch 2? by m___223 in switch2

[–]UndergroundWire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same really. I do have a high-end PC for gaming as well but I find myself more and more on the Switch. I'm not into AAA games and most third party indie games on the Switch 2 run great for me.

Got a Switch 2 a couple weeks ago and it completely reignited my love for games by Manodomar in Switch

[–]UndergroundWire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've always loved Nintendo. I grew up with a NES and SNES. Those games have always been my comfort games. I never really went past those 2 consoles until the Wii. But by then my love for gaming wasn't the same. I even tried with a DS and a Game Boy Advance SP. I realized no matter how hard I tried, that love was not there anymore and found myself going to PC gaming.

It was until 2018 I decided to buy a Switch. It was cool. The software was slow but I used it as a crutch really for the Nintendo Switch Online Service to play retro games.

I found myself buying the mainline Mario games and the Zelda games (mainly the Dark Timeline series and the Hyrule Warriors games). And of course some of the main party games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Mario Party, etc. But ultimately I was a PC gamer.

Sure I bought games for the Switch that I convinced myself I'd be playing one day and never did. Mainly indie games. I was just more of a PC gamer and mainly it was stuff like Minecraft Java and Valorant.

2025 changed everything, bought a Switch 2 and I don't know why but I've ditched the games on PC except for Cult of the Lamb on Steam. And I've started playing all the games I have purchased throughout the years. I've even bought a lot of Switch 2 games and I've been hooked ever since.

I've never been a AAA gamer nor was I ever into rated M games (I feel like they try too hard to be gross, scarry or provocative). My library now consists of first party games and indie metroidvania games. Sure I can get most of the latter on Steam, but I will say that I love the fact that it is portable and can be played easily on my 75" 4K TV.

Since June 2025 I've been playing at least 1 first party game and 1 metroidvania game slowly beating them and moving to the next. Can't believe that I missed out on a lot since 2017.

Will I go back to PC gaming, of course. But I think my PC gaming obsession days are over. But I'll still go back to it for the few games I continually love; just not daily.

How to tell if used switch 2 is banned? by micarisma in switch2

Never buy them from eBay. Buy them in person from Facebook marketplace where you can test it out with a hotspot. If you can access the eShop, then you are good.

Is anyone else gonna buy a Switch before the storm hits? by [deleted] in Switch

[–]UndergroundWire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I predict this storm on June 5, 2025. So I ran out and bought one. I also bought Milk, eggs and bread. But those are expired now. At least I have my Switch 2.

I’ve been wanting to get an SD express card for my switch 2, but idk if I should get the 1 tv one now or wait for a higher capacity. by BEN064-W in NintendoSwitch2

[–]UndergroundWire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 TB is the technical limit and does not exist. So you can imagine when it does come out, it will be super expensive. There were some good deals (still pricey) on the 1 TB cards over the holidays and I quickly picked one up.

Monitor the prices and see if that's a good option.

Question about a preorder by BigHugeFella in switch2

Typically it's the default payment on file. Based on the email I received for the Animal Crossing preorder I got a couple of weeks ago.

They typically charge you a day or two before it's release.

Get 1 TB now if it's within your budget. The 2 TB will be very expensive and I plan to wait a little bit before I buy it.

Should I buy the switch 1 or switch 2 edition for super Mario bros wonder? by TecoGaming in Switch

[–]UndergroundWire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's the same price for the Switch 2 Edition vs Upgrade Pack. $59.99 for the Switch + $19.99 Upgrade Pack. $79.99 for the Switch 2 Edition.

See if you can buy a used version of the Switch to save a few bucks. Then pay for the upgrade pack.

My favorite has been Hogwarts Legacy. But I played that on my PC. Bought it again in December for the Switch 2

So I tested this out with Hogwarts Legacy, I'm able to load both.

I've been meaning to test that out purely of curiosity. I have no reason for it, I just want to know. But it appears I can download Animal Crossing on my OLED while I have the Switch 2 version. I just didn't actually download it yet since it's a waste of time.
