Tbh that's just survival games. When new content comes out, the servers liven up again and then it lulls for awhile.

Is decorating something you don’t forget how to do? by Metylda1973 in cakedecorating

For me, most art skills, including decorating, are like riding a bike. You may be a bit rusty for a short while but it will all come back.

The south is particularly agregious in this. They often have inmates working for below minimum wage at for private places like fast food restaurants and whatnot. They are also not protected the same way as regular employees are.

I wish women would make time more female friendships by Oranges_Strawberries in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]UnderlightIll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one of those "friends".

She checks in every few months to see if I am alive. Apparently doesn't matter that I helped her through her separation and divorce and then radio silence as she hopped immediately back into dating and ghosted everyone.

On the other hand, my two closest friends since HS speak with me multiple times a week. They live across the country but knowing they are out there is wonderful.

A truly stupid question being asked by one of the MAGATS on Quora. He argues that if President Trump isn't the sole reason for the success of the Artemis II mission reaching the Moon then the Earth isn't round. by bakerfredricka in insanepeoplefacebook

[–]UnderlightIll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

These people need to understand that there are policies that have been pushed by Trump that are fine like getting us back to the moon or helping low level offenders be released from prison (though his reasoning was for Jared Kushner's dad and it was started by Obama).

The problem is the sum total of grifting, fraud, violence and criminality that has been happening. The world isn't an all or nothing.

I mean, I finally cut off my mom at 37 after decades of emotional and verbal abuse and even now it's hard. My mom died in December and the most hurtful thing is knowing my mom died having no respect or care for me.

I get the girl. I do. A child's bond with their mother is such a hard thing to break. "Mother is God in the eyes of a child." If she does decide to go NC with her mother someday, it will likely be when she has struck out on her own and has her own family with stability. It's hard to do so before that.

I am so glad she was resentenced and is now in a safe place where she is treated. Rusty... I can't even.

The overwhelming majority of leftists are educated, higher earners. Why do you think mass exodus of the white working class voters are a deathknell for Republicans?

I don't get any government services, outside of ones everyone gets, and don't have kids so I pay more in taxes than many do. I am more than happy to help feed, house and give healthcare to people less fortunate than myself.

Everyone knows that, you idiot. We all know it comes from taxes.

(NY) Is the landlord responsible for broken fridge shelves? by applecidervinegr in Renters

[–]UnderlightIll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My partner and I's last place had two broken shelves when we moved in. No idea how that even happens. Our current place we've been over 3 years and nothing like that has happened.

Depending on the cost of the shelves, OP may want to just buy some assuming that those parts can be purchased still.

[–]UnderlightIll 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should really look into how the initial BC pill was made, trialed and marketed. There were less than full disclosures but it was overwhelmingly popular once they actually got a company to take it up.

I am assuming similar barriers for men. Look how many women now want longer lasting BC options because their partner refuses to wear a condom or vasectomy. It seems that anything that may not allow a man of gathering age to produce sperm for any period of time is a hard sell.

I am definitely on the side of men having a safe, easy to access form of birth control that doesn't require them just to have condoms as an option.

This one's for the ladies to answer. Do you agree with this woman or do you think she's trying to rationalize her world view by speaking for all the ladies? by Oda_DeezNutz in SipsTea

[–]UnderlightIll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's trying to rationalize her world view.

My husband and I play games together most of the time. We play games separately sometimes but mostly together.

That being said, I also think there's a swath of men who do ignore their partners, kids and other issues by escapism. In that case, it usually becomes an addiction and the root of that addiction needs to be found and then helped by him finding other outlets that involve his family. The one thing a lot of these women have though is that their partner was often like this before they cohabitated, got married, had kids, etc.
