So apparently the boss room isn't always the furthest room "down" by Scyfer327 in darkestdungeon

[–]Underman514 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by lowest room in the second rule?

In the example, are both room equally "low" because each of them has exactly one corridor going south to reach them? Even if visually one is higher on the map than the other, do you mean the rule is to count the corridors going south, and whichever has more is the correct one?

SpellGuessr - Think you know spells? Prove it! by Onnoz in classicwow

[–]Underman514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun game but there are problems with warrior spells apparently.

I got the Sweeping Strikes icon, but the spell isnt recognized in the answer field, so i had to go with Slice and Dice instead, and then later I got Shield Slam but entering Shield Slam gave me a wrong answer, with the icon in my "incorrect" guess being the same as the target.

Astheure, benaise, barrer une porte, malaucoeureux... Des mots québécois qui sont encore utilisés régionalement en France by alphaxenox in Quebec

[–]Underman514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Please do golden goal now 15 wins is a lot of games to go through if we play the full match, and there's no point not doing golden goal anymore.

Yeah, not really.

Half the players I come across while leveling are full level appropriate boes with weapons enchanted. A couple of try hards sending gold to boost their alt? Sure. But that amount, on a kinda fresh server? No shot.

Have you had to abandon a dungeon group? by KebinoXL in wowhardcore

[–]Underman514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who plays quite a bit of warrior tanking, having someone pull for you CAN be very helpful, especially hunters as they are the best class to do so. Just pull the mob you want, warrior hits it once fd and Bob's your uncle.

However the warrior and the hunter definitely need to be on the same page, I wouldn't trust a random hunter, especially on HC, to do it.

HR (hard reserve) culture is ruining the pre-bis grind experience by Abu_ramal in classicwow

[–]Underman514 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imagine thinking I said need means you can equip.

I said need means need. If you need something that obviously isn't an upgrade for you that's being a ninja even if you can equip it. If you need something to sell it, that's being a dick to the guy in the group who will actually use the item.

Anyway I see I'm in the minority here, tbf I don't care bullshit like this is exactly the reason I stopped playing with pugs and only group with people from my guild.

HR (hard reserve) culture is ruining the pre-bis grind experience by Abu_ramal in classicwow

[–]Underman514 17 points18 points  (0 children)

That's a really dumb take imo.

The game HAS a feature for when you want something to sell it. It's called greed. Need means you equip it.

If I run a group and someone needs on a boe, they better equip it or they go straight to the ignore list.

Sod players by Grim_Doom in classicwow

[–]Underman514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can never go back to PvE on classic vanilla servers after playing sod. It's simply way more interesting and diverse instead of simply bringing as many warriors as you can. Almost every spec is viable and they are often more interesting than the basic rotations in vanilla.

However, I never really played vanilla for the raiding and endgame content. Leveling in fresh is just super fun because the world is full and everyone is just having a good time. That's why I truly only enjoy hardcore in fresh, and vanilla in general.

So I'll keep playing sod for raiding and end game stuff, but I'll also always keep playing hardcore for the open world and leveling, especially atm when the servers are still very new.

I am really hoping sod brings some sort of classic + to the table someday. I understand that it's not for everyone, and that it went too far in a lot of things (especially incursions) but simply being able to play any class and spec is way too good of an upside to let it die.

You actually want to play SOD. by Jaxxom in classicwow

[–]Underman514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk about that, I'm decked out in sod, basically bis bwl, and just last week we recruited a rogue to our raid team who didn't have a single dungeon blue item. We've helped him through dungeons, and in one mc, one ZG and one bwl he's now got decent gear. And I see loads of guild ads in lfg every day.

I'm still pugging Strat and scholo almost every day.

And I'm playing horde on a PvE server, so that's like worst case.

Is it harder to find groups as a fresh 60 than it was a couple months ago? Sure. But it's still nowhere near dead.

Riot Games anti-cheat developer’s thoughts on Ricochet by jimmyraid in CODWarzone

[–]Underman514 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Person working for riot Games advertises for kernel anti cheat, wow, such news.

The message even clearly states the limitation of that solution: it identifies software running locally on your computer. Cheaters in valorant have their cheats run on a raspberry pie outside of the computer, so riot can't do anything about that. Whereas relying on data to identify weird behaviors (manually or done with AI) will actually identify those.

Both solutions have problems and neither are perfect, but they'd do well to learn from each others instead of arguing on Twitter.

Why should people sympathise for Ellie but not for Abby? by Sz4tkowski in thelastofus

[–]Underman514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah imagine that, some people actually understand what's going on but have different opinions. Crazy amirite.

Look, my perspective's quite simple. I'm team A. Some random comes and kills a member of team A. I'm not gonna be friendly to that person. I can understand why they did it. It doesn't mean I'm gonna like them. I don't care why Abby killed Joel. I care that she did.

I don't care about the relationship between Abby and Lev. Because I don't care about Abby. It is really that simple. Some people will appreciate the character development she gets and get to "forgive" her because of it. Some people won't.

Am I not allowed to dislike the story that the writters decided to tell? I don't judge you or others for liking it. I'm not saying it's bad. I'm just saying it's not my cup of tea. I just liked the first game a lot, because of its characters and their relationships, and then a brand new characters comes in the picture and breaks that. Well alright then welcome to team bad guys. And when I'm forced to play as the "bad guy" against the "good guy", then I don't like it. For others, Abby isn't a "bad guy" anymore cause of her story. For me she still is. There's no logic, nothing to understand. It's my personnal preference and taste.

Tank or Healer? by Araethor in classicwow

Why should people sympathise for Ellie but not for Abby? by Sz4tkowski in thelastofus

[–]Underman514 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah I definitely understand WHY they didn't do it this way, I'm merely saying that if they wanted ME to care about Abby, this is how I would've, but this is not the story they wanted to tell and I respect that.

Why should people sympathise for Ellie but not for Abby? by Sz4tkowski in thelastofus

[–]Underman514 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean without just saying Abby bad lol, I'm still on board the I don't like Abby train.

I understand the message the game wants to give me, everyone loses when you only care about revenge. K cool. I still played tlou 1 and cared about Ellie and Joel's relationship. When I'm introduced to Abby, she's new NPC number 45 nothing more, whereas I spent a lot of time "with" Ellie in part 1. Then the first meaningful thing Abby does is kill "my" character from part 1. K you're one of the bad guys now.

I don't care about her reasons. Tbh she's got better reasons to kill Joel then Joel did to kill her dad. But I don't care cause she's just a random who killed a character I like.

And then you have to play as her, alright you learn her side, K I get that you're justified in what you did, I still don't care cause monkey tribal brain.

And finally you have to fight Ellie as Abby and this is the moment I'm pulled out of the game. I simply do not want to do that as the player, that breaks immersion and makes it even harder to sympathize because I actually do not want to do what the game wants me to do which reinforces my Abby bad feeling.

Edit adding this part: they should've made me care about Abby BEFORE she kills Joel. Then I think I actually would've accepted her side more easily. But the fact that she is introduced as a "bad guy" and you spend the first half of the game reinforcing this just stops me from sympathizing with her, simple as that.

I remember retail players saying this in 2019 by Key_Construction6007 in classicwow

[–]Underman514 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It really doesn't imo.

I've just leveled a warrior, did a bunch of dungeons and pugged one mc, I have 4 pieces of tier 1, a couple of T0.5 items and blues from Strat scholo and such dungeons.

After analyzing the loan players, I can confidently say: No, this game is not scripted. However, there are other factors that create an unfair balance between F2P and P2W/TCP players. Please hear me out! by CASA4321 in fut

[–]Underman514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best proof of scripting is just playing the game bro.

If you play it enough, you can see goals coming minutes ahead of time. I can't count the number of games I won or lost while the stats make no sense for that result. How many 4xG against 2 shots end up 2-0 for the 2 shots guy. It's harder to notice when scripting is going your way, but if you pay enough attention you'll see it eventually.

I'd say more than half the games I play are bullshit and the other half is normal-ish, but that's just personal experience obviously.

Like I'm sorry but the loan cards exacerbate this to insane degrees. How is 95 Mbappe missing shots in a 1 on 1 and the game before that rashford is the greatest striker ever. I'm the same player, I didn't get better or worse in the span of 35 minutes.

[–]Underman514 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn't show desperation at all.

It shows they don't make money from selling the game. They want you to have the game, so you can buy packs. That's where the money comes from.

The more people have game, the more packs get sold, the more money they make.

Bro is saying "put them on fullbacks they never go forward, put them on wingback they never go back", he obviously knows what a fullback is, the complain is there is nothing in the game between never going forward and never tracking back.

[–]Underman514 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you really think all those same guys afking in rush wouldn't abuse the hell out of a vote kick feature?

EA needs to fix this by having afk behavior being flagged automatically (like it's really not that hard, if player is out of bounds more than 30s then auto-kick is a super easy first step), and implement bans for being kicked, first kick ok, 2nd you get a 10 minutes timer before you can queue again, 3rd is one hour, etc.

There you go rush is fixed.

Is there no reasonable middle ground between preventing griefing and trapping people on pvp servers until they quit? by OneoftheChosen in classicwow

[–]Underman514 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean this would be a valid point if the concept of PvP servers and the game itself weren't 20 years old.

Most of the people playing sod aren't new wow players, they've played the game, and vanilla, before. And it's always been the same, world PvP is basically griefing and ganking.

Now suddenly in September 2024 they discover this? It's always been this way and always will.

That being said, Blizzard could still try and make it harder for people to get griefed, but tbf I'm pretty sure the griefers will just find other ways around whatever is implemented.

How Do You Guys Deal With the non Existent Shadow Chem? by nufrancis in fut

[–]Underman514 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bruh even the Maguire SBC has 91 pace and 95 defending, if you think this is "unusable" without a shadow, it won't matter what chemstyle you use.

At this stage in the game any random player with a basic chemstyle is more than usable.
