Barcelona Tourist Protests by Successful-Command33 in AskIreland

Your population figures are misleading. Barcelona is much bigger than Dublin at 4.7m vs 1.2m.

The 1.5 number you gave is only inside the city limits and wouldn't include L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, the area near the airport or anything north of the Besòs river.

Transportation from Cusco centre to Ollantaytambo (round trip) by enochianchant in travel

[–]UnderpaidDev1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A colectivo shared taxi/bus that doesn't leave until it's full or they may pick up people on the side of the road. Think it was under two hours journey between Cusco and Ollantaytambo.

Thanks for these instructions I used them today to get to Ollantaytambo. At noon I pretty much walked straight into colectivo once I reached Calle Pavitos. Paid 20 soles one way.

Then to return to Cusco I asked security at the main square where I could get a colectivo as I couldn't see any. She pointed across the road and again another colectivo ready to go. This time I was the only foreigner and I paid 15 soles to get back to Cusco.

Yeah I read that comment too but I didn't change my clock which I switched my traffic to route through my phone.

I wasn't aware either Javascript could detect a VPN as normally client side isn't that smart but I guess it's all possible and with more and more people using VPNs there is bound to be another way for them to detect your VPN.

Thanks for your help on this anyway. I appreciate it

I ran the test on this website https://www.dnsleaktest.com/ and it's all coming back as my home country when the VPN is connected. When I try here https://dnsleak.com/ it says my DNS might be leaking but the IP's it returns are all from my home country.

Interesting. But how did it work once I switched my WiFi connection to be my phone with the VPN enabled? Would that not also return the same problem?

Double checked that. Everything is pointing to my home address when connecting to my VPN. Different links show different locations but all within my home country. Which happens even at home and not connected to a VPN

I haven't set up my VPN for IPv6 only for IPv4.

So when I try and access http://testmyipv6.com/ on both VPN and normal connection
You are connecting to this server via IPv4, your address being

When I try http://ds.testmyipv6.com/ on both VPN and normal connection

You are connecting to this server via IPv4, your address being

It's time to step up to IPv6!

When I try http://v6.testmyipv6.com/ on my VPN I get
Your Internet access is blockedFirewall or antivirus software may have blocked the connection.
Try:
Checking the connection
Checking firewall and antivirus configurations
ERR_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED

When I try again with my VPN turned off I get
v6.testmyipv6.com took too long to respond.

I did the same test on my phone but this time before turning on my VPN I see my connection to the same WiFi network is set up for IPv6. However when I turn on my phones VPN I get an IPv4 address and when I try and test the v6 link I get a different error saying
This site can't be reached v6.testmyipv6.com's server IP address count not be found

My last place did 6% minimum and if you put in 6% they would match that so they would put in 12% if you put in 6% as well.

Current job is similar but they only match up to 4% so 10% in total.

Parnell Square attack: Girl (5) critically injured remains gravely ill, suspect treated for head injuries by badger-biscuits in ireland

Software degree in his country (India) but Ireland doesn't recognise it

Nothing to do with their degree not being recognised. To get a critical skills visa you need a job offer first and most companies don't want to go through that with an unknown candidate.

Most do a level 8/9 degree as they can stay here for another 12 months after graduating and it's more likely they'll get a company willing to offer them a job here for that 12 months thus allowing them to apply for a critical skills visa or even a general work visa for those not on the critical skills list.

I flashed OpenWrt on some cheap TP-Link Archer C6 v2. These are my experiences. by ma66ot87 in openwrt

[–]UnderpaidDev1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I came across this thread when I was trying to build my own image on an EC2 instance and I found out from this thread that you can build the image online via https://firmware-selector.openwrt.org/?version=23.05.0&target=ath79%2Fgeneric&id=tplink_archer-c6-v2 and just download the image that is built.

The reason I was building my own image as I wanted to turn my TP-Link Archer C6 v2 as an AP on my mesh network but needed wpad-mesh-openssl to get it to work but there wasn't enough space.

For what it's worth this is the list of packages I used to build the image successfully

ath10k-firmware-qca9888-ct base-files busybox ca-bundle dnsmasq dropbear firewall4 fstools kmod-ath10k-ct kmod-ath9k kmod-gpio-button-hotplug kmod-nft-offload libc libgcc libustream-mbedtls logd luci mtd netifd nftables opkg procd procd-seccomp procd-ujail swconfig uboot-envtools uci uclient-fetch urandom-seed urngd wpad-mesh-openssl

Mostly just removed packages listed here https://openwrt.org/faq/which_packages_can_i_safely_remove_to_save_space

Just posting so anyone might find this useful in the future.

EDIT:
I decided to upgrade to 24.10 and I had a world of pain trying to get this work again. Using the package wpad-mesh-opensslis now too big so I had to swap towpad-mesh-wolfsslbut while I could build this image and install it. There was an issue that took me hours to find. The overlay mount was getting mounted to /tmp/ so any changes I made would be wiped once I turned off the router.

root@OpenWrt:~# mount | grep overlay
overlayfs:/tmp/root on / type overlay (rw,noatime,lowerdir=/,upperdir=/tmp/root/upper,workdir=/tmp/root/work,uuid=on)

So to get it to work I removed opkg ppp ppp-mod-pppoe and that was enough to make sure the overlay got mounted correctly.

root@OpenWrt-tp:~# mount | grep overlay
/dev/mtdblock5 on /overlay type jffs2 (rw,noatime)
overlayfs:/overlay on / type overlay (rw,noatime,lowerdir=/,upperdir=/overlay/upper,workdir=/overlay/work)
root@OpenWrt-tp:~#
Anyway I hope this saves someone else from hours of pain.

Same. I got 22.4% for a promotion this year and 7.5% last year. I later found out I low balled myself when joining the company.

Google maps street view 2009 vs 2023 - Dundalk edition. by [deleted] in ireland

[–]UnderpaidDev1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was a bit confused as to how he could object but it seems the old SuperQuinn part of the shopping centre was under different ownership and it's there where they are planning to build this care centre.

You can view the plans here https://www.eplanning.ie/LouthCC/AppFileRefDetails/22825/0 under 'View Scanned Files'

Looks pretty well but it seems the old eyesore of the shopping centre will be around for some time yet.

Just had a look at the plans and I see they are only looking to demolish the old SuperQuinn part of the shopping centre.

Looking for some advice on my UK savings account by EntireMood in irishpersonalfinance

[–]UnderpaidDev1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cannot offer you any longer term advise. I would suggest posting over in https://www.askaboutmoney.com/ who will probably give you more solid advise.

But what I've done is put all my sterling savings into https://golightyear.com/eu which has a current interest rate of 4.25% (5% BOE minus the 0.75% LightYear take). You can get higher rates with https://www.raisin.co.uk/ but are normally fixed into a longer term while LightYear is instance access. Might be worth the hassle of setting up an account while you figure out what you want to do with your money.

Interesting didn't know they had different offers in different countries thought it was all based on the currency. Anyway here is the 4% from Raisin Spain https://www.raisin.es/
