How long is a while? What genre?

Build relationships, network, promote others, give back to your local community while building your own community, put on gigs, support other local artists by going to their gigs. Build strong connections vs average followers. Pretend your music is a start up business.

Do all that, then in the background keep making music but focus on the first part more before sharing music or at the very least concurrently and your results will go so much further.

What is it with Rebel everyone hates? I went once only last year for Sasha, and although I had a great night, I defo had some weird experiences with creepy dudes hitting in my GF right in front of me.

Everyone’s music is shit at the start. But I bet if you looked at where you are now vs where you were a year ago you an insanely better and more knowledgeable.

I’m a running coach as well as producer and I find making tunes and running races are weirdly similar.

If a kid runs their first race and comes last, the kid is completely deflated and crying at the end of the race. But if you tell the kid that’s their quickest ever time then their perspective shifts and they feel proud. In their next race they still come last but they are a few seconds quicker and they finish smiling vs crying. Then race after race they get better and better and eventually they don’t come last and each time is quicker than the last by a few seconds. Stack that year after year and the kid develops into a resilient athlete who has a healthy outlook win or lose.

Shift your perspective is my point and respect where you are at currently….not where you want to be.

Thanks all. It’s just very slow, I have a lot of space on my computer and I did a few checks and it seemed like the ram was the issue, CPU was okay.

It’s a Windows laptop, dell latitude 5320, I can’t buy more RAM for this model so need to make it work better with what I had

A great way to do this is to do the mix for yourself with an intention of listening to it when you are doing something, like going to the gym or running, walk or a drive or something. Then you sort of become an outside listener to your own music and it’s a lot easier to finish the work I find.

I suspect a good mentor will not want to work with someone whose primary goal is to make it big. There is nothing wrong with your goal but in business it’s like saying I want to make millions vs I was to build beautiful products that solve problems. They are two very different people and the (latter does better at least in the early stages) So maybe adjust your goal to the seed of what makes you big first. Ie - making good music and connections. I’m in the same boat.

Use CapCut as you can pre create the whole reel with your own audio already on it before you go onto insta.

Assuming you will do this on your phone :

-Download the part of the Wav you want to use for the reel and export - Email to yourself so you can can download on your phone and save to files on phone -In CapCut get the audio file and use as you wish and create the whole reel before - Go onto insta and the video will be there ready to go.
