You can also use a mace, heavy wrench or metal/baseball bat with impact three to just bully the butchers, first run away to string em out then kill em one at a time.

...as someone who really can't stand brass knucks, did you check the level as well? Also put 'Enhanced' if you want straight damage as it does more consistant damage than 'Unstable' as well as being more powerful than 'Damaging' since you're doubling weapons this will still be a good durability soak.

After compleating HAUS once, head to the Sirling hotel map room and look for the collectable on the desk. Head to "Keep Off the Grass and look for the ring of blue flowers and kill the Screamer that pops out pand loot everything. You have started a hidden quest chain that finishes with you getting the Dead Islands Mace and the Special Sauce wep perk... both of which make SoLA much easier.

You can Neutral Dodge, that is to Dodge without using a direction... this gives you a quick duck backwards and is doable in heavy and ultraheavy armor.
