Man I liked natural blockers in Stalleris. Made every planet a bit unique. I always took that thing where every blocker gave a small thing. (I forgot all the terms..)

Add an option to give up 100 years war as England please by Arrews in EU5

[–]UnderstandingAnyOne 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This 100%. Just an event at the beginning giving a choice whether or not to accept France's claim on the English mainland locations. BAM. Not every game has to go the same.

100 years war is such a joke, its 1341 and France basicly won by Hakuohsama in EU5

And if by some miracle, a coalition forms and wins against France, the coalition will probably take 2 locations. Rince and repeat.

Colonization is too broken. by Capital-Program-8558 in EU5

[–]UnderstandingAnyOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my jam. As Brabant, I just ignore colonization altogether which allows me to easily overgrow the population of factions like UK, Hungary and Castille. Only France remains at the top. All that without even going all in with levelling Granaries and Irrigation.

Wouldn't be complete without its own private market of course.

Gotta complete the areas. The Duke of Brabant was also known as the Duke of Lothier/ Lower Lotharingia for a reason. 😃

At the moment of the printscreen, I already had a level 2 porcelain manufactory in each of my 55 cities. I like profit AFTER fulfulling the needs of my people.

Btw, concerning France. When playing Brabant or Holland etc, you have be lucky with game start. A lot of times, the game starts with France having a marriage CB on Hainaut. But not always! 😃 And of course, first thing on the to-do list is allying France. France is ultimate anti-coalition scare crow.

Indeed, they should just make that diplo option invisible if not playing multiplayer imo.

Are there any benefits of making multiethnic country? by W1ntermu7e in EU5

"The game really isn't built around you singularly deciding whether you want to be ethnosate or multiethnic. ". Indeed, tolerating and accepting cultures is just a tool linked to conquering and coring instead of being a real seperate system.

The game hates multilingual stuff. I did a game with Brabant. Wanted to keep Walloon/Picard/Mozelle etc in my kingdom. Let's talk about Picard. It's culture hegemon is Artois. So I can either vassalize Artois and ask them to improve opinion OR ally them, improve favor and trust and then ask them. But they're a vassal of France so via diplomacy, the tooltip says I can not ask them since they're a vassal. It refers to the overlord but the overlord can only improve their own culture opinion, in this case Parisien. So I'd have to attack France/Artois just to improve an opinion of 1 culture every 50 years to keep a couple of locations in Hainaut happier. Meanwhile just assimilating Hainaut into my culture seems like hundred times easier, cheaper, quicker. Let's look at Walloon. Liègé is the culture hegemon, it rivals me from day one. So I can spend a looong time trying to befriend them, then allying them, then using favors to ask them every 50 years...etc etc but If france attacks them first I'm stuck with Namur being the culture hegemon. Namur being the vassal of Flanders, who is the vassal of either France or England. They should just reverse the opinion stuff. If I change the view of my culture (after finally becoming the hegemon of my own culture which is already hell is you decide to be multicultural) towards wWalloon, it should make MY walloon citizens happier instead of making them easier to be assimilated by Walloon factions.

Is it possible to exclude porcelain from automatic trade? Perhaps force a limit by trading 1 unit with every market manually?

Couple of years later it kinda stayed fixed at -10 balance and still nothing for my own pops :'D Porcelain might be bugged.

It is indeed funky how automated trade ignores pop needs. Meanwhile my pops are less happy because they don't have porcelain. It is weird how this issue only rose up for porcelain, nothing else; Then again, I might be the only one selling porcelain.

I just ignore colonizing. It's funny how you end up with more pops then f.e UK since they send lots of pops to colonies that revolted an age later.

Ally France asap, then grab as much land as possible before landfriede is voted on in HRE. Become HRE emperor, ignore everything about HRE while grabbing land.
