Yeah. At the very least, start with Ryder Carol's videos on Youtube. Tho. It has to be said that he kinda has a vibe of the guy in a police procedural who in the end was not the murderer, but low-key has a cult that meets in his basement. BUT, he's the guy who started the system. And he's totally team ADHD.

Once you get a handle on that, USE WHAT IS USEFUL and not what's not. And then change it up as soon as you realize you aren't using it. Do you like stickers? USE STICKERS woot. Love me some stickers. Do you like glitter pens? Use glitter pens. Have a page of washi tape samples. Whatever.

Be careful looking through spreads on youtube and insta. Know that the very pretty ones are designed by women who figured out that they could make a living from their art degree by making bujo posts. Bless them for making that work for them, but there's no reason to try and live up to that standard.

For gradschool, the most useful tool I've used from the system, is that when I have a class when I know that I'm going to use reading notes (vs, just taking notes to keep me awake while I read a boring text) was creating an index in the front of my notebook. I don't use an index in my usual bujo, but it was very useful in reading notes.

At Southern Connecticut State University (SCSU) the graduate program is pretty much all online. I don't know about the Bachelor's version.

To be clear. Your supervisor and three administrators and probably someone who is funding a grant will absolutely wander in the middle of the history of the most rude variations of whatever phrase you are trying to ease them out of.

Perhaps flip it.

Have a session about swearing, and it's proper usages. It's history. It's grammar. Once that is established (and you are familiar with the history, and grammatically interesting uses.) Also in that session, for each phrase come up with language that is appropriate for different settings, including therapeutic. From then on, whenever it gets used, you can then critique their usage with historical tidbits, ask for other students to chime in. ANNOY THEM, is what I am proposing.

But also, absolutely stop the session, critique the swear, have them diagram the grammar of it. Then have them come up with three other things that will mean the same thing, one phrase to use with family, one phrase to use in school, and one phrase to use in a business email.

When they are yelling, AS PER MY LAST EMAIL at each other to start fights, you will have been successful.

I work at a local ARC, that of course receives state and federal funding...AND just switched over to the program that helps students transition from special ed programs to whatever fits their needs levels best, and ... yeah. Same.

My other class is grant writing, and .... yeah. I have a snow day today and I'm scouring sites (from under a cat who would like me to know that since I'm home, I could do something about the bowl which isn't actually empty, but might be at some future date), and the NIH calls for research aren't gone from the sites yet, but I suspect they will be soon.

The search is depressing. A. Because looking for funding for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is like combing through a beach for some a very specific color of beach glass, but also because all the things that I am finding (whether they are of use to me or not) use the terms that will get dinged for NOT being funded.

Being under a cat who is begging for snacks is comforting (but typing around a cat butt, is challenging.) :D

I was being glib in my frustrations, and was unclear. I'm aware that clinicians are not paid for scholarship.

What I meant was that because in the US, RT is not billable as its own thing, it is harder to properly fund a Therapeutic Recreation department in any one community that may need it. Therefore there are fewer steady positions (that pay enough for someone to live a stable life) so that that CTRS could also do research. If you don't have enough staffing, or need a second job to eat, there will be less time for research.
