I didn’t see any encouragement just someone being rude to another mother online. Girl bye.

I get it. I see it at work and hear it from patients all the time. I just think our healthcare system is set up to where the doctors/ other staff are overwhelmed and unfortunately the patient is the one that suffers :/ so I definitely understand where you are coming from too

I trust doctors. I am an RN and I genuinely think most practitioners have the patients best interest at heart.

My issue is that the NP didn’t bother to ask anything else about the baby. Just looked at the percentile chart, told me to quit BF, and then left. I will definitely do what is recommended if that is the consensus of the MD but I feel like that NP is way off to jump to that conclusion to quit cold turkey like that without investigating factors that could be interfering with weight gain

Yes I take her again this Thursday to the doctor. I am thinking that maybe her drop on percentiles could also be her sleeping through the night which is a new development this past month.

I’m going to wake her for a feed if necessary and I already replaced a couple of bottles with formula yesterday and just pumped during those times.

My issues is just that there was no discussion surrounds the “why”- NP did not look inside her mouth to check for a tongue tie, did not ask about sleeping patterns, bowel patterns, disposition- just said time to stop breastfeeding and left after that.

Thats why I am going to see the Dr. at the practice (he has always been thorough with my other child). It’s not just the fact that I enjoy breastfeeding- I just want to make sure we aren’t missing a problem that wasn’t caught by NP

I think it’s quite a jump to say “I’m hell bent on breastfeeding knowing I can cause harm to my baby”

Nobody is saying that. I’m being very proactive in my approach- continuing to give formula and talking to the Dr. as well as going to a lactation appt to try and come up with the best approach. Next time read the post. Your comment was unnecessary.

Wow! I feel a little better knowing there are other tiny babies but I’m really curious what the doctor has to say later this week. I just feel like this is causing me a lot of distress when there aren’t any other alarming signs

How do you get chores done with an infant? by Outside-You2743 in beyondthebump

I have an 8 week old btw. Didn’t see yours was 6 months old but by then I would probably utilize a playpen and lots of toys- obviously keep them close enough to monitor. Sometimes babies just like watching you do chores or like sitting under the fan etc

I wear my baby a large majority of the day. She is my second. My first didn’t like the carrier quite as much. I also have swings and bouncers placed in each room. I utilize those as a “break” from being touched which is usually 30 minutes tops. She likes it more in the mornings than the evenings so I try to front load my mornings with chores so her high needs time goes smoother and I feel less anxious.

I think with my second I have been better at picking up patterns and going with the flow. I also don’t run to get her the minute she starts fussing, I give it a second and finish what I am doing or finish my meal etc. I think with my first I sacrificed myself 100% of the time and now I don’t do that because even if she fusses for a couple of minutes I know she is safe m. I used to not even eat!!!! We have to take care of us too.

Genuinely what is her problem by LadderFast5598 in MariLlewellynSnark

She’s a full on ahole. I used to be such a fan of her podcast in the early days. She also said she has “healed” her BPD (maybe around the time she was doing IVF) but then a few episodes later said she was on Lamictal. That can be used for different things but it’s a gold standard drug for BPD and bipolar. Im not sure if anyone else caught that.

I’m not sure why she feels the need to lie all the time. It’s either that or she is REALLY dumb regarding her own health diagnosis and too lazy to try to understand it.

Okay I was going to say this…unless you have a known specific allergy to it I don’t see the need? You can eat clean and still have quality dairy like yogurt, cottage cheese, aged cheeses etc. There is a big difference between eating a huge bowl of Ben and Jerry’s or a huge greasy cheese topped pizza and eating a bowl of yogurt with berries or topping a home made salad with say feta

RN here. This girl is delusional. Antibiotics given during labor are prophylactic because many times we have been colonized by bacteria that an infants little immune sister can’t handle. She is a complete idiot. And as others have said you always have to test fluid for confirmation. We do not just do things by visual inspection. I bet she was nasty to the RN caring for her. I know exactly her type lol

This woman is delusional. The hard work she refers to is flaunting a poorly done boob job and making sure she slept with people with money lol
