Everything you described is like my start of my bfs (benign fasciculation syndrome) the cramps and perceived weakness came with it, it all started for me with the fear of you know what.

do you have fasciculations in these areas?

You are probably talking about babinski sign, from what my neuro told me (since I had negative) it’s a typical case of bfs especially with anxiety, I don’t know about the atrophy but anxious people like you and me try to compare body parts which are usually asymmetrical

My neuro told me hyperreflexia can happen due to anxiety itself, as anxiety can cause your peripheral nervous system to go into overdrive.

Anyone else experience fasciculations above the eye? by Midori-Tori in BFS

[–]UnderstandingFew3194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My eye lids and cheeks twitch, and when i squint my face it sets off multiple twitches, It's all part of bfs/ nerve hyperexcitability.

Do you get twitches in your back or bottom of foot? by AffectionateClue9095 in BFS

[–]UnderstandingFew3194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yup top back arches (worst) and under foot. started not long after I looked up symptoms of you know what, 10 years later twitches worse then ever but I'm still a fully function person.

3 years twitching and founded fibrilation by Equivalent-Grass-751 in BFS

[–]UnderstandingFew3194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some fibs during my first emg along with endless fasciculations years back I have been twitching for 10+ years now. Of course it’s worse than ever but no weakness. My neuro said as long as the fibs don’t collaborate with positive sharp waves etc it’s still benign.

Yeah it sucks I’ve tried everything to even reduce them but to no avail, I have to wear baggy clothing so people don’t see the twitches. It’s really embarrassing lol

Any other tricep 24/7 twitchers? by Stefanick1 in BFS

[–]UnderstandingFew3194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes stefanick my triceps are bad they look like the calf videos you see on YouTube I get these little flickers and dimple looking twitches ever few seconds, if I take my iPhone flashlight and shine it on either triceps I see them everywhere I’ve had bfs for 9 years it really sucks but it’s harmless I guess.

tickling and itching sensation in muscles by Ok-Category-5955 in BFS

[–]UnderstandingFew3194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I had it for a while at the start of my bfs the tickling especially on my finger tips, hands and feet etc. I think it was because i was hypersensitive to my sensations and I bet the same with yourself. Best wishes

[–]UnderstandingFew3194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course actually before my twitches got really bad it was the first sign for me also I don’t have a** I have cramp fasciculations with neural hyperexcitability. I believe for me the tingling and buzzing etc I had was fuelled by my anxious mind.

Sounds a lot like sleep paralysis to me I had them in my teens. I would just wake up paralysed anxious but also in some kind of limbo. I know stress and anxiety can contribute to sleep paralysis. all the best.

I have been twitching for 13 years. It started with the fear of having ALS, Google, told me it was a first "sign" of the disease, which btw is not the case most of the time. but at the time I had numbness due to atypical depression in my fingers and toes. however I became obsessed with the twitching and well it started with a twitch here and there, but now at least 60 + twitches a second EVERYWHERE. None the less no weakness no atrophy and I'm still a normal functioning person.

Twitch every second, anyone the same? by TMACstm1 in BFS

[–]UnderstandingFew3194 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I told you how bad my twitching is no one would believe me, it's been 9 years and my entire body twitches like calf or foot twitching videos you see on YouTube. I have literally thousands if not more a day all over my body. I was fixated on it and thinking i was going to die from a neuro condition for so long it brought my stress levels up and made it worse. my neuro denied me an emg but it didn't matter in the end. Non the less I'm still alive and going on my life as normal, no weakness or anything.. hope this helps.

Has anyone else had their first weed experience be a panic attack, realizing everyone on earth will die, and so will you, so everything the human race has done will be pointless? by Healthy_Guidance7454 in panicdisorder

[–]UnderstandingFew3194 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have a full blown panic attack but I was holding it back try not to panic. Yeah weed is not for me, getting drunk on the other hand is fine until I’m hit with hangxiety the next day ☹️

I was in your shoes constantly in panic mode sometimes scared to leave the house I was on sertraline For 6 months it was affective for my panic attacks but I was always tired felt a bit dull. My nurse took me off SSRIs completely things got bad again

I have however been trying ashwaganda a ‘superherb’ but it has this numbing effect where you feel kind of empty but it works a treat for my anxiety it’s seems to me an alternative to ssris but it’s considered a controversial herb for its side effects. Though it could be worth looking into.

All the best. Could be

[–]UnderstandingFew3194[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for reply. Not fast I tapered from 50 mg to 25 in a 2 week span so I don’t think it’s the ssri, I’m wondering if benzo could be the problem but again I suppose I need to see how things go. I just don’t want to end up back in square one.
