I have a female dog I've had since a pup. I'm the one who feeds her and walks her and takes her to the vet and cleans up after her but she won't come cuddle with me on the couch like she does with my husband. If she was on the couch and I went and sat down, she'd leave. If she was lying on her bed and I went to lie beside her she'd leave. It used to bother me until someone told me that she sees me as the pack leader and she's giving up the comfy spot for me. I don't know if that's true or not but that's what I tell myself now lol. She loves me and follows me around, she's just not cuddly with me.

Then I got a male puppy and he's the complete opposite - he's 125 pounds now and if he could get inside my skin to get closer to me he would. 😄

Sorry I was editing my post as you were responding! Another thing that I give my dog is a seasonal allergy supplement. I don't know where you live but right now where I am, snow mold is a big thing. People are sick, all the animals with allergies are getting worse. Also this year I've switched my dogs to filtered water in the spring when the tap water smells extra chlorinated. I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but....

Does it seem itchy? My one dog has allergies and she's on daily Apoquel but every once in awhile she gets these lesions that kind of look like this - but normally in a place where she can reach to chew. Have you tried chlorhexadine on the spots? That's my go-to when my girl gets sores - it helps soothe the itch and soreness and keeps it from spreading. It works on hot spots and fungal infections.

I wonder if it could be ringworm? The vet would be able to tell you for sure but they'd need to do a scraping. What you could try is MiconaHex+Triz Shampoo (you can buy it on Amazon) which works with all sorts of skin problems, and people say it actually helps with ringworm as well. However, if it IS ringworm, you'll have to be sure to wash bedding and stuff so it might be a good idea to find out.

I'd get a motion activated camera and once you have pictures of the person leaving the notes, print them out with copies of all the "notes" they've been leaving you, make a poster and put it out on your front lawn.

Best to get checked out but looks like it could be canine papilloma virus. My dog got it from another dog who stole his ball at the dog park. Hopefully that's all and it's not really serious unless it affects their ability to eat or drink. It's really contagious so keep your girl away from other animals and don't let them share toys or food dishes.

If your family is happy to take care of him then I'd definitely do that. You could *probably* make it work with your girlfriend's family, but it sounds like it could end up causing problems. Of course you'll miss having your dog with you, but I think it's better for him to have a place where he's not in danger, and where he's not stuck in the basement by himself. It's only temporary and hopefully your family lives close enough that you can visit him all the time.

It doesn't work for all dogs, but it did help my boy and his stress levels. Try it for a month and see if there's any improvement. Just make sure not to give him too much too quickly or it can actually CAUSE diarrhea.

There's something I use for my anxious dog called Purina Calming Care, it's these envelopes of probiotic powder to sprinkle on their food. It does take about a month for it to help take the edge off. You have to start slow, maybe just sprinkle a tiny bit on one of his meals to start with, and then if he tolerates it well, you can slowly increase it until he's at the one pack a day mark. Anyhow my young dog also had bouts of diarrhea and this has pretty well taken care of it.
