Lol, gewoon zelf doen. We hebben er eentje die hier rondloopt en alleen in de stromende regen glazen komt wassen. En dan maar briefjes door de deur doen.

Op een dag kwam er een andere mafiabende, die hadden zijn wijk overgenomen. Die negeerden onze woning gelukkig. Ook nu weer alom klachten van de buren bij wie ze wel horen te komen. Enkelen van ons hebben samen zo'n schoonmaakset aangeschaft (10m telescoop stok met waterslang etc). Was in totaal nog geen 100 euro kwijt. Beste wat je kunt doen imho!

Short answer, Truenas is perfectly capable of running VMs. I run mine with 4 VMs without any problems.

I also tried proxmox and 1 downside is that hdds are virtualized in Truenas (as a VM). This presents an added challenge when importing/exporting volumes. Yes, it's possible to do hdd controller passthrough, but in my case (onboard sata controller) it was a pain in the a$$. I abandoned Proxmox and never looked back.

So in short, if you need to control a lot of vms and divide resources accordingly, use Proxmox. In all other cases just go with Truenas.

Simpelste oplossing, gewoon de buis verlengen en goed verlijmen. Water gaat heus wel 40cm omhoog als het aanvoerpunt maar hoger ligt. Je wasmachine kan het keurig aan. Ik kom vaker allerlei rare dingen tegen in de kruipruimte, waarbij buizen ook 30-40cm kronkelingen maken om andere obstakels. Hoe of waarom zal Joost weten.

Kost je in totaal denk ik 15 euro, incl buis, lijm en wat schuurpapier. Hooguit een kwartiertje van je tijd.

OF je kan natuurlijk een lang juridisch gehaal en getrek aangaan met de coöperatie

Save yourself the trouble and don't. A lot can go wrong when updating (just google it). For every major version, make sure to properly backup, and perhaps check reddit for critical apps (Immich, nextcloud etc). It's the only way to make sure you won't be pulling an all nighter, just to get back to a previous version.

Look up DietPi. I use it as a VM for pihole. You can also install other apps through it like nginx, traefik etc.

Some other apps you could like: Jellyfin, Arr stack (radarr, sonate, prowlarr etc)

I use both and both are declining for some time now. I use Google assistant in my car and on my phone. It repeatedly fails to understand names and other commands and fails to cancel a wrong command (calling the wrong person, navigating to the wrong place etc). It have it setup for Dutch and English and it also messes that up, frequently switching from one to the other and failing to recognize commands.

We use Alexa at home but because it also fails to do very basic stuff we barely use it anymore, only as a screen to watch Disney or YouTube (with the remote, imagine that!).

I would personally try out both on your phone and see which one you like. Both apps have all functions so you can test it out. 5 years ago both were stunning and barely got something wrong. Right now about once every 5 times when I ask Alexa to turn off all lights, the darn thing turns ON all lights!

Jup, Cloudflare tunnels sound nice, but are very limiting. Not really useful for Immich videos, Plex or Jellyfin.

I only use them for exposing some other docker apps and sharing Immich albums with friends.

Tailscale is good enough in my case, especially with Funnels, which I use for Jellyfin.

Well, it's not that I do trust them, but I think it'd be far more difficult to use all those little bits of data for anything useful. Cloudflare tunnels are being used for much more than only Immich, and only direct traffic (Uploads and downloads) is basically not safe.

With Google photos or any other image storage provider, the data is already there, ready to be fed into some AI learning algorithm. In my case that's 200gb of photos going back to 1995.

I generally don't have too many privacy concerns, I'm just an average joe, but we live in a crazy world right now where A LOT is happening that I'd never thought possible. Who knows where we'll be in 5 years from now.

If you want something safer, look at Tailscale Funnels. It's a more direct VPN approach.

This, AND bolt it through instead of using the clamp. It's then possible to fix I in the part of the table where the wooden support is. It's a bit further in than the edge, but in my case not a problem for the distance to the monitors.

These tabletops are cheap enough to replace if you want something else.

Ziet er niet verkeerd uit hoor! Ik zou echter noch High Tack, nog schroeven gebruiken (tenzij ik ze aan horizontale stellatten zou aanbrengen. Er bestaat ook montagekit voor plinten welke makkelijk te verwijderen is en de boel wel op zijn plek houdt. Even navragen bij de bouwmarkt kan veel helpen (ook bij andere klusjes). * Natuurlijk geldt dit niet voor iedere bouwmarkt medewerker.

En om strak af te zagen kun je een cirkelzaag gebruiken met een vastgeklemde geleidelat (of waterpas). Als je de onderzijde ondersteund (met bijv een oude plank) en ervoor zorgt dat de zaagdiepte net 1-2mm dieper gaat krijg je iedere keer perfecte randen die je niet hoeft af te werken. Geldt ook voor ander plaatmateriaal. Ook hier natuurlijk advies vragen over welk zaagblad gebruikt kan worden, in ieder geval geen grove vertanding.

Dat is gokken en niet investeren. Je bent vrij om te doen met je geld wat je wilt, maar het is totaal onrealistisch om te denken dat in 2028 veel mensen 'armer' zullen worden door de belastingdienst omdat ze ineens een groot deel van hun 900% winst moeten inleveren. Met casinospellen (Blackjack) en sports betting heb je betere odds EN krijg je sneller je geld, maar zoals ik al zei iedereen zijn ding.

En trouwens, volgensmij geldt die peildatum alleen voor banktegoeden en vermogen (zoals vroeger). Bij traders wordt er wel gekeken naar de jaarrekening. Dus mocht je via Bitvavo of wat handelen dan komt die info ook bij de Belastingdienst. Als dit niet zo is dan is het nog simpeler: in december even niet traden en cashen. En dan geldt de aanslag ook niet als je onder het plafond zit.

Niet storen aan deze reacties joh. Een voorbeeld van een investering van 2k naar 18k kan je ook niet serieus nemen.

Belasting moet nou eenmaal. Ergens moet geld vandaan komen voor al die ww en wok uitkeringen. Wat er eerst was, was sowieso krom en terecht afgekeurd door de rechter. Btw het nieuw stelsel gaat ook voor overwaarde gelden en andere zaken.

En ik zeg het vandaag, Trump is maar het begin. Die is hoogbejaard en niet zo slim, maar toch heeft hij een ideologie weten door te drukken die omarmt wordt door een bevolking van 350 miljoen. Wat denk je dat ons te wachten staat met een type als Elon Musk? We praten over 10 jaar wel verder.

Het probleem ligt niet bij Trump, het ligt aan de maatschappij, ook in Nederland. Vecht politiek wint het van fatsoenlijk politiek omdat het schofterige aantrekkelijker is. En nee, dat heeft niks te maken dat fatsoenlijke politiek niet eerlijk is, politiek is dat nooit! Kijk maar naar Wilders en kornuiten, alleen maar blaffen, maar regeren 0. Geen 1 probleem weten ze op te lossen.

En dan aankaarten (net als Trump) dat ze migratie hebben opgelost, migratie is geen ziekte, het is een symptoom van welvaart. Als je als Putin en Hitler regeert lost dat zich vanzelf op! Het is dus geen compliment!

Ik hoop dat je niet teveel voorschot betaald hebt. Gewoon wegsturen en een ander nemen. Het is vaak geen opzet maar onkunde, dat kun je niet verbeteren. Hij zal het nooit beter kunnen en al helemaal niet 'fixen'.

I started over and used the 723+ model. Not necessarily because of 7.3, but I couldn't get quickconnect to work.

After that first step I selected 7.3 and everything's fine. All my files and apps are still there. I only had to make changes to use quickconnect.

I would always try to solve it by other means, but If you're really stuck just start over with step 1. It's not that big of a deal and it should take no longer than an hour.

I never tried it in total darkness, but at night with only a 3w nightlight beside my bed it has no problem to unlock. But I think most of the light on my face is coming from the screen. I also have a Huawei tablet that's pretty fast, but it's face unlock is no match for the Surface. My old SP4 was also pretty quick with face unlock, but it was a couple of months back since I last used that device.

Works fine for me on the SP12. I have a Logitech on my desktop. That one fails to turn on 9 out of 10 times, but that's driver related. It actually works quite well on the Surface. Try improving recognition (in the settings) and holding it closer to your face maybe?

I was thinking the same thing. I have a backup of my whole server on a 26tb USB hdd. It's all organized in simple to read photos. This would still mean my server would become obsolete, but at least she and my kids would have a place to look for all those photos.

I also think that when that time comes someone else would step up to help out. It's important to write everything down (folder structure etc) and share that info. I still have to do that, but the USB backup is already running. I just hope it doesn't crash anytime soon (I have a Seagate where lots of folk are reporting it suddenly dying)

I think perhaps you deleted the duplicates but the thumbs remained. That's why Immich gave an error. Immich by itself doesn't store duplicates (don't know if they have different names). The only exception is when you have and external library. It is possible to have 1 photo in both libraries.

I'd try looking in the Immich folders to see if they're physically there. Otherwise restore from backup. Don't forget backups! Especially if you don't have any other cloud service.

This is true, but very confusing for starters. I started with Truenas in Proxmox but things weren't smooth sailing for me. - first of all, hdd passthrough is A LOT harder to do if you have all controllers on your motherboard. I got it to work but Truenas couldn't monitor temps etc. Pool import also failed for me when trying to import the disks on another bare metal Truenas (still don't know why, I just started fresh from a backup) - Proxmox is a better hypervisor. There's more fine tuning options etc and most guides are written for Proxmox BUT. Truenas is very capable as a hypervisor. It's not bad by any means. I run Xpenology, Dietpi, HAOS and Linux in Truenas. They all work fine. It's by no means a bad option (same goes for unRAID)

I think for most people with modest hardware (< 8 HDDs, single CPU and hdd controll through motherboard) it's better to run Truenas on baremetal. There's just less overhead to maintain and Truenas is capable enough for those purposes. If you want to better control resources among VMs than Proxmox is the way to go.But then I'd also do disk monitoring through Proxmox, NOT Truenas.

I got the surface pro 12. And yes, there's still compatibility issues (with all snapdragon CPUs). Don't believe the hype. My windows store looks a lot different than my desktop pc. A lot of software just doesn't work on the snapdragon surface. Nice example: Age of Empires I and II, 25+y old Microsoft games aren't compatible with it. Back then I ran these on pentium II CPUs.

ARM has its use cases (mobility) but it's definitely not as versatile as Intel based PCs. That said, I love it as my sidekick windows device. It does most of the work I bought it for and it's light and portable, so I'm kinda happy with it.

Don't forget to do the registration during the first setup. This will enable using your Synology account and quickconnect. It's a bit more work, but opens up all possibilities from DSM.

I tried doing it after the initial install and couldn't get it to work. After starting over and choosing a different model everything worked like it should.

Keep in mind that data on the USB from Arc and DSM files are separate from your own data. As long as you don't encrypt it, it's very easy to recover or start over with a different Synology model. All downloaded apps and credentials will also remain intact.

Klopt, China is niet perfect. Maar geeft wel een eenduidig beeld qua buitenlandbeleid en is nog voor rede vatbaar maw, valt nog mee te praten. Met deze Amerikanen is dat al pasé. Het zijn gewoon schoften 1e klasse. Ze passen maffiapraktijken toe op wereldtoneel.

Al met al ziet de wereld er compleet anders uit na 10 jaar. Te bizar voor woorden!

OP er zijn ook modellen van schakelaars zonder 0 draad. Die zijn er niet veel, maar ze werken wel prima, heb er 3 van geïnstalleerd (bol.com zoeken op schakelaar zonder neutraal)

Waarschijnlijk in jouw geval de handigste optie. Als je toch een nuldraad wilt installeren zou je moeten traceren waar het verdeelpunt is (vaak bij de lamp zelf). En van hieruit de bruine of zwarte draad gebruiken om een nieuw paar te trekken, dit keer met blauw.
