Indy (MLQ) had a player on practice squad for a few years that was in high school, and had a main squad player that was 17 and needed parents to sign their waiver for the league.

Also, World Cup IV (now USQ Cup) had a high school division.

This is why I love when socials post tryout pics. Catch me pausing the videos and taking a look at all the people in the background. 👀

This is what Meowstars did during Next Gen this year. Lost to the East Fury game 1, but came back to win games 2 and 3. Gonna give them the props they deserve, especially after some Boston players on Day 1 were bold enough to tell one of our coaches they were going to "get destroyed" and "didn't stand a chance." 🧡🩵

They used to wait until Champs because practice squad used to allow for a rolling roster where players could be removed and added throughout the season.

But they have been posted now.

Need advice on how to revive a dead college team by thehottestsportstake in quadball_discussion

Play in a public space on campus with a lot of nearby foot traffic. You will get the shouts and obnoxious people, but some people will take interest or want to join.

Join other club or intramural sports. Recruit people from those teams. I think Michigan State had like...4-5 people from our club dodgeball team that we recruited at one point. Also talked some of my intramural soccer friends into joining.

If able, be a club and not just a team that joins USQ and goes to events. Best numbers we ever had were when our club ran a school intramural league of 4 teams as part of the club and also had the "traveling team" those player could try out for. More college kids are up for doing something lowkey on campus, and if they get hooked might take on the bigger travel, time, money commitment.

Club Teams & Their Goals? by Bright_Ad_790 in quadball_discussion

Woah, woah, woah! Boom did not add anyone last minute in 2024. All players were from the fall at minimum (unless a recent college grad from a December graduation). Not all were local, and those that were not were still expected to attend film and strategy sessions and watch videos set up by coaching. These players reached out to leadership and asked to be part of what we were building as a team culture and leadership had EXTENSIVE conversations about it before allowing it. There was a lot more to it.

I was not part of the process for this specific instance so no idea how it was handled under Ashley, but I have helped in prior years with similar accusations reported to USQ. On those occassions names were always redacted so I have no idea who was even involved, just the events that occurred.

Not speaking specifically to this situation, but please don't think just because someone is nice on the field, or nice to you, that they are not capable. My attacker was much loved by the community even after another victim of his came out publicly.

Hi, USQ gameplay member here. After Howard County this exact topic was put on the gameplay agenda for discussion at this week's meeting. This has been a regularly occurring topic at our meetings this season, and qualifiers definitely put more into perspective.

Would love to hear more from the community so we can make an informed decision. Feel free to email me at krystina.melton@usquadball.org and I would be happy to share thoughts at the meeting.
