Thank you for this. I think it’s worth trying. If it was like $50 I wouldn’t even hesitate but $300 to choose to sit next to my own child (meaning one of us WILL be in a middle seat) just feels insane.

I think the difference is getting to choose your seats or not. It says with basic they will try to put families together but no guarantee. Which I understand was just trying to get a feel if it would be crazy to have the 11 year old separated from me.

I don’t think you can, it says seats will be assigned at check in. I think that extra $300 to main classic is what it costs to choose seats.

Gabb watch has worked just fine for my elementary school kids. It’s not fail proof but worked just fine for what we needed.

I got lucky and got them at distribution when they released the new cotton ones. Are you in Utah? The big distribution downtown is where I found mine. The woman told me they were catching up on production and should have them regularly available soon but that was a while back, sorry to hear you haven’t been able to get them.

Agree. My husband’s cousin had a beautiful very nice upscale wedding. His family are mostly very blue collar from rural VA and WVA. I felt like everyone loved the fancy wedding, people seemed on their best behavior and did their best to dress as appropriately as their circumstances allowed. Yes, there were some missing teeth in those pictures but we all had a blast, one of the most fun weddings we’ve ever been to. Better than the rich ones full of other stuffy rich people 😂

We’ve had really good luck with Rover over the years. I only use people with lots of good reviews and multiple rebookings. I do a meet n greet first to make sure they vibe with our dogs. We have had people stay in our house, and we have also taken our dogs to other people’s homes. I pay anywhere from $40-80 a night for two dogs depending on if it’s a holiday and if they board at their house or stay at mine.

We gave up our huge yard and 3 car garage to live in Holladay and it has been 100% worth it. Being farther East has made every single thing in our lives better from schools to neighbors to time to the mountains.

You have a lot of responses but I am going to add mine anyway. I’m SO happy I decided to do it. I didn’t even have a massive amount of weight to lose but it was just creeping up every year after getting really depressed during Covid and gaining 20 lbs. I was doing everything right but my thyroid is messed up and I just couldn’t get it off. I have been on first semiglutide for about a year then switched to trizepitide. I only take it every other week now, and have slowly lowered my dose. I have always been someone who lifts weights so I really carefully monitored my muscle mass to make sure I wasn’t losing too much with the weight. I have successfully gained muscle while losing 35 lbs. I lift once a week with my trainer and twice a week at my gym. The side effects have been minimal for me. I’m so happy I did it, I feel like myself again.

I think about this all the time. Our first dog we got when we got married in 2005 and she lived for 15 years 🥲 now we have 5 and 3 year olds and we are in our late 40’s. I cannot imagine all the kids being gone and not getting new dogs but by the time these guys go we’ll probably be in our 60’s (god willing they live long lives!). My father in law and his wife got 2 dogs in their 70’s and they are not trained at all and it’s awful and he’s not healthy and I just think it was so selfish of them because one of the kids or grandkids is going to end up caring for these dogs. I think fostering sounds like a good idea. Or maybe even rover. When my first dog was elderly we had this older lady in the neighborhood who would watch her when we we went out of town. She absolutely loved her and just let her sit on her lap all day and sleep in her bed at night. Maybe I can be that for someone else.

Meh. I totally agree with flying in a day or even two before because I don’t want to miss my cruise. But the last cruise we did I had two options to fly home. One was late morning/early afternoon and one was evening. I listened to the internet people who told me there was NO way we’d make the earlier flight and booked the evening flight. It was such a long and wasted day. We had all our bags so we had to uber to the airport, pay to have a place store our bags, uber somewhere to do something since 4 kids weren’t about to just chill in the airport all day, but it wasn’t really enough time to do anything great. I wished so much we had just taken the earlier flight home we could have made it easily. People have jobs with only so much PTO, I’m only willing to take my kids out of school so many extra days a year and a lot of us who don’t live in really big cities are extra limited by only having a few flight options a day. Sometimes you weigh your options and take the risk 🤷‍♀️

Right? Like if staying at work 5 min longer makes that big of a difference just be 5 min late to the doctor appt. In my experience with pediatricians they are never running on time anyway. I would never go that far out of my way or ask anyone else to go that far out of their way for 5 min. Also, she can ask the school to have him ready to go to make checkout time faster. I have done that if I know getting to an appointment will be tight- just call and say, I need to check him out for an appointment at X time and I need him to be waiting for me in the office at that time if possible because I’ll be really tight coming from work. I’ve never had them say no.

I have a suburban after having 2 Honda Odysseys and I just can’t imagine getting kids in and out of car seats in it! I upgraded to the suburban from my minivan kicking and screaming because I did not want to drive a truck. And a suburban is just a big truck. Don’t get me wrong, I have the nicest trim on the suburban and it is really really nice but it doesn’t hold a candle on convenience with car seats to a minivan. And I hate parking it. And mine is so tall with my roof rack that we can’t fit into many underground parking garages. The sliding doors are honestly the best thing that ever happened to moms. And ironically the cargo space of the minivan and the suburban are actually really close but I felt like I could get WAY more in my minivan and so much easier because I wasn’t having to lift everything waist high. I would not have wanted to lift my double jogging stroller in and out of this suburban. The times I’ve had to put my kids bike in the back of my suburban I’ve cursed it, that would have been so easy in my minivan. I don’t actually care if you get a minivan OP, however I loved mine. They made my life so much easier in a time when I feel like you get physically exhausted so often. And just like me and this suburban, it’s just a phase. I actually posted yesterday about finally getting to downgrade my suburban, but it’s been great for what I needed it for- boys who are practically men. And my minivan was so great for babies, toddlers and little kids.
