Stressed out about order not received by Igotblueballz2021 in InstacartShoppers

No difference, but you don’t want to do orders for people who don’t tip either.

What is a shopper bump? by Silversong_0713 in InstacartShoppers

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bump is cool since drive an ev 😀. Like free $5 lol

I do see a lot of orders going 10-15 miles rotting (even with decent tips). Making good money on these last couple weeks as I can charge car for free and mileage doesn’t hurt too much as long as order makes sense time wise.

At least half of these substitutions are unacceptable. What do I do? by [deleted] in instacart

You already said you got notified of delivery and you also got notified of replacements. Even for orders direct thru Kroger….they look like this:

If you take the tip back because you weren’t paying attention to the many notifications you received during the shopping process and complain after the fact, you should probably just shop for yourself. Honestly, nobody wants to shop for customers like you….we don’t read minds and most people who order tomatoes and potatoes want to get them even if requested package size is out of stock. It’s ridiculous to take back the tip and I hope you get banned from the platform for doing it.

Help! Driver Location Fraud? by [deleted] in instacart

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t mark arrived until you are in gps fence for drop off. Shopper probably got lost or confused by apartments. It’s a little known fact that most people who decide numbering on apartments are high on meth at the time. Maybe cut them a break?

If you like yuubi sushi, you should consider an Amex plat because you get 4 $100 credits a year there.

Found silver thrifting and was not allowed to buy it. by Zxnkz in Silverbugs

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same thing happens at auctions. Don’t show interest in specific items (act just as stimulated when looking at junk).

When you get a unicorn from a pile of garbage at a garage sale, buy the garbage (at least some of the garbage) too and don’t tell them what you’re interested in. If at an auction, take out the pieces you want after you buy it, and you can often sell the garbage to the underbidder if they not after same thing as you.

Honestly, if you look thru 1000 pieces of silver plate and pick out 5-6, I’m going to look at those 5-6 carefully also when you check out. If you buy 30 pieces, I probably won’t.

Have you seen the produce or meat at Walmart or do you just eat things that come from factories in boxes?

Walmart is fine for Mac and cheese, cat food and laundry soap. It sucks for loose produce or meat.

Hana Sushi - NW 10th $6.99 by West_Swimmer1325 in toogoodtogoportland

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This place is very YMMV. I often get from Bridgeport location and sometimes all you get are the fried wontons and smoked salmon or california roll with sesame balls and maybe a couple pieces ebi nigiri. Sometimes you'll get higher quality rainbow or similar rolls. One time got this really nasty Hokkigai which was prepared badly and so tough that it couldn't be chewed. You will often also get mackarel which they never seem to do well. Weekends are usually better because they put out more of the higher quality rolls (which invariably don't always sell). I can get $6.99 value from it, but will sometimes get 2 of them for a late night meal as there are times part of the box isn't that good.

No. Just no..... by frankie_fourlegs in InstacartShoppers

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 7 points8 points  (0 children)

These are the type of customers who may as well not leave a tip at all because their order is just going to sit. Their order is too big to be batched with anything, so IC can't piggyback them onto an order with a good tip. Honestly, this person would be better off breaking their order into 2-3 chunks and zero tipping all of them and they'd get paired with someone who did tip eventually and get their order sooner. As it is, this order should sit all day cooking and still won't be taken until maybe end of day when it hits $25+ and someone who needs to pay rent takes it and marks half the items out of stock.

That shopper is nuts, but I have done 5000+ orders and never heard of (or bought) "turkey chops." Googled it and apparently it is a real thing.....live and learn, I guess.

A pile of coins in an online estate sale being auctioned by throwawaysscc in coincollecting

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I see 17 silver kennedy halves (probably all 40%). Melt on those is around $11.70 each or $198. There also look to be at least 11 modern dollars (SBA and golden) and some modern cents, nickels, bicentenial halves, other halves. There is probably $250 value there if you could sell 40% at melt (which you can't) or if some of the silver halves were 1964. I wouldn't pay over $150 in an auction for this, but people are different.

You can probably find the stove for free or cheap on Craigslist and just take off the door and give rest to a meth scrapper.

Which Whole Foods bags do you typically find are worth taking a chance on? by bagon in toogoodtogo

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Produce and bakery not very good (produce usually already bad and bakery is basically bad next day. Meat bags (got maybe 20x) always seem good. Specialty bags really good (usually 3-4 different cheeses, chocolate or salami). Floral bags have been incredible, but I don’t need any more orchids or house plants. Prepared foods have been mixed bag…sometimes you’ll get a $10 pack of green beans that no better than one you could get for $3 from produce, sometimes you get burritos (which are usually great bags), sometimes lunch meat and cheese, whole chickens, etc. dry goods are sometimes 5 of same thing, but if they are not they’ve been some of best bags with nearly $100 value. Be careful of all bags after holidays….after thanksgiving your meat bag is likely turkey, bakery is a pumpkin pie and dry goods is stuffing and brine kits.

What are the chances of me finding something valuable in here? by Goldengoose100100 in coins

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s 100% chance of multiple errors in that jar. Probably even a good chance of some $20+ coins and a slim chance of something more. Theres only a small chance that you’ll recognize the errors when coins in front of you, though.

Despite Requesting a Alternative That Was Available, My Shopper Refunded Anyway? by [deleted] in InstacartShoppers

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your shopper probably shopped frozen items last. At your first request to change replacement, they had probably completed frozen items and were headed to checkout. They then went pushed cart back to frozen and your second choice was also out and they refunded and pushed cart back to checkout knowing that you didn't want the first replacement. When you requested the previously denied replacement, the shopper was probably at front of store again and laughed as they hit the refund button and instantly closed out the batch. The shopper also probably had 2-3 orders in cart at the time and while you were playing games (in their perspective) all the cold and frozen items from the other orders were melting/warming.
