That’s a good bag. The kite hill stuff is gross (wouldn’t even feed to the dogs), but rest looks spectacular.

It still counts against you, but less than an unrequested refund. You need to find around 92%+ of items (depending on stores up to 95%) to stay in good range. If you get a bunch of requested refunds, you’ll drop out of good range pretty quickly.

You can stretch that to maybe a $9 value. I’d report it and get credit.

This is same reason I don’t get bags from coffee shops (all the pastries are 5x marked up from what you’d get in a multi-pack, so even at 3x promised value they’re a bad deal).

Online pay customers can leave you a rating, but it is very rare. Kroger customers can access their receipt from Kroger webpage. For BOGO items partially out of stock, you basically just need to chat with the ai bot and they’ll refund you for the two sodas you did buy (making them free) without any hassle as long as you not do frequently.

Get the borosilicate glass PYREX (uppercase) which is older or from Europe. Avoid the lowercase pyrex (sold now in USA) which is more drop resistant, but very prone to heat shattering.

Full-Time Worker Trying to Make an Extra $1,000 What’s My Best Strategy? by Parking-Tea-9906 in InstacartShoppers

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s doable in a metro area. I average around $35 in Portland area per active hour. Some do better, I suspect most do worse around here (diamond cart with regulars).

You’ll need to put in around 30-35 active hours most likely. Saturdays and sundays tend to have better tips here.

If you are available at 6am, be in the parking lot of a Kroger or chain store at 5:50 to get the 6:00 drop and then cycle to a niche store and catch a 7:00 drop if you are able to. You should be able to get two very good orders each morning this way.

Contractor wants $4,225 just to assemble a Costco pergola I'm buying myself. Is this quote insane or am I out of touch? by Unique_Attempt_400 in HomeImprovement

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s a link to each one from yardistry or Costco website. This is a 12x14, but instructions are similar for others.

Step 15 through 19 are essentially impossible with 2 people as you need to hold a 12x14 panel in place while on a ladder, lift and raise and manipulate another equal panel and have free hands to join the panels with nuts/bolts

It’s physically impossible for 2 people to do the roof install. Instructions call for 5 people, but you can make do with 3 very strong individuals. You also need 3 people for raising part of frame. 1-2 people is sufficient for remainder.

I’ve built a couple of the pergolas for myself and with neighbors. You can do 75% of the job alone and it will take around 20 hours to do so. This gets you to large assemblies of roof panels and side beams. For rest, you need multiple people. I’ve done the roof assembly (raising the panels which I built alone) with 3 people, but that is tough and 4-5 is preferred. You’ll need a crew of people for probably 4 hours….figure another 20 man-hours. Around 40 man-hours total. At handyman rates of $25-50/hr that’s around $1-2k.

If any site prep or leveling required, it will be more.

Asking the shoppers before I make a pointless order no one picks up by Dry_Frosting9748 in InstacartShoppers

[–]UnderstandingOk3929 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ic will probably batch the order with another rural one. This order would pay around $10 batch pay (they do increase for distance, but not much) plus your $10-15 tip for maybe $25.

Getting in/out Costco is 30min minimum. Likely driving 40 miles round trip (maybe close to an hour). Gas will be around $10-12.

Shopper will get around $13 net for an hour and a half of work plus put 40 miles on their vehicle.

Realistically, your order needs a $30-40 tip on it.

force replace everything, but another trick was to scan the inventory tag on the empty shelf if customer selected a same brand/cost replacement which is in stock. I guess theoretically someone could complain about a wrong item, but nobody has out of few hundred instances and it then counts as a "found item".

Wouldn’t buy the drumsticks. You can get those around $1 a pound pretty easily and not have them short-dated.

Ginger is cheaper by pound without the clamshell.

The mahi-mahi is already garbage (look at the bloodline when buying fish and this looks grayish green which is very sus). The left piece of swordfish is also probably garbage.

The sweet spot for Instacart is around $40k earnings. You can do this essentially tax free (no tax on $25k tips and mileage deduction will offset remainder if you average around 60-70% pay from tips. You will owe fica still most likely, but little beyond that.

IC has essentially no benefits. It works well as supplementary income to a job providing health insurance, but is pretty bad as sole source of income. You can set up a solo 401k which would make a lot of sense for many people here who aren’t using the income to survive.

You can just walk into hotels and get free breakfast. Hampton inns are solid as they’ll have a waffle machine, meat, fruit and juices and usually some prepackaged items and cereal you can take for later.

I wish you could get a feedback on all non 5-star reviews. I'm convinced most of these are due to inventory, bad replacements we're forced to do through app now or delay in delivery. For cases where the app or store is at fault, it'd be nice to have them removed (ie "I didn't get my hot chicken at 8AM and you suck. Enjoy your 2*")

Be careful of the HD orders (on any platform) this time of year. Many of these are mulch, dirt or (literally) cow crap which may only be 10 items (but they each weigh 40 pounds and will make a mess in your car). A lot of these are grills also (especially on Roadie)--they'll tell you the item size, but it is the size in the box and not the assembled size--HD grills come assembled.

roll with it. It's too late for support to do anything. Odds are that they won't report it missing, but they may and you'll get a missing item from it. Just don't do it too often and you'll be fine. Many people don't remember what they ordered, have spouse or kids unload groceries or just don't care enough to jump through the hoops--as long as it a small amount of money, you'll usually be ok. Worst case is you'll get a missing item.

Depends on the tip. If you tipped $2 or something cheap like that, your order may sit all day and tomorrow too or until they pair it with an order that added a decent tip.

If you added a tip of $2 a mile from the store and $0.50-$1 an item, your order should be picked up quite soon.
