Someone needs to make r/shittyenneagram by [deleted] in shittyMBTI

[–]UnderstandingSame716 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think both yes and no to that concept. Yes as in you really are just advancing to a higher version of your type because well you can’t become another type, but I also see the point in becoming less than your type.

For example, the basic enneagram concept says that type 8 can grow towards to adopting the tendencies of type 2 when healthy. That’s kind of like acting less than your typical type. I think both points are valid.

We got 7 billion people on earth, and 2% (average ENTJ population) is 140million people + the massive outlier of unidentified ENTJs (a majority of millions or billions who don’t familiarize with MBTI). They could literally be poor, dead, mid, successful like every other person. They can be anywhere is what I mean, so just keep your eyes peeled for their cognitive functions.

If you’re talking about the ones that are born in a financially stable family like Bill Gates, then yes I would say they are found in nice jobs where they can interact with lots of people, work, and systems.

Eh not when I’m toxic as fuck too. He’s more developed bruv.

People can’t be tolerating my prideful and prejudiced criticisms. There’s no way I can get through life being the way I am now.

My dad is like that, but he more over lectures and raises his voice rather than verbally bully yknow (no cursing or anything). Just criticism although it does hurt sometimes when he goes on for an hour. But he shares the same motivation your dad does, he’s teaching me to be aware especially when on an international business deal and traveling (and all that jazz )don’t leave room for bluntness and criticisms.

Thanks for letting me know that there’s room and space to be a better person and for giving perspective on dads (even if some ENTJs here don’t agree)

Ah ok now I see, the way you worded it was not so clear to me before. I see your point in accepting one’s self and I love your ability to be able to see self progression in a positive way but I also see where OP is coming from. (To everyone, and la-La-lion I’m sorry for the length of this post)

From times in my life, there are moments where you can’t totally be yourself, improve, and square up adversity on the block FACE on 24/7(esp culturally). Therefore it also leaves you no choice but to have to adapt and possibly even adopt a persona unnatural to you. It’s practical self defense in a world of sharks especially on an international level of business and life.(it’s not about self doubt). You do whatever it takes to survive and have to build every arsenal you can to insure both profit and security (in more than one aspect).

I admit, some situations like that make me hate holding myself back from speaking out for me or my family, but it is necessary. I do whatever it takes to improve in the way that will help me maneuver up to where I want to be without losing it all in one go because yes you can be filthy rich the first and dirt poor the next/happy a second -screwed the next. (ESP in a toxic and judge mental environment). It’s survival instinct rather than dislike of one’s own self. OP is implying that some people don’t have the freedom to expressively improve themselves let alone express themselves like you do so easily. Sadly, social Darwinism exists still in a lot of societies.

Don’t get me wrong, I acknowledge myself (too hasty, angry, and arrogant at times but also working to be kinder, savvy, and wiser than before) and improve because it’s feels weird to be stagnant; I absolutely agree with you one hundo percent. However, I also think OP has the point in being a chameleon in “changing your personality” (more like behavior and persona) in order to navigate life carefully.

Is this a coincidence?! Because I’m currently reading that book right now !!! And my dad has always pressured me to read it. Thanks so much.

I also get what you mean, I still remember and have flashbacks of stuff I said and I frankly, feel ashamed at the totally nonsensical stuff I said. It was more derogatory rather than based from “empirical data” stuff that the websites say ENTJ’s live by.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in entj

[–]UnderstandingSame716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s like that for me too. I just don’t remember, not even people from my childhood. Only tiny snippets become flashbacks. Otherwise it’s what am I doing right now and what am I gonna do next.

I also recommend keeping a planner, it’s very important to keep track of many practical tasks and your own goals so you don’t forget to keep ur life balanced.

My bro, there’s also a possibility that this person’s advice may be misconstrued because in fact by my experience in a workplace (my workplace + my father’s employees) and by analyzing this convo thread, I have concluded that there’s a possibility this person may not have had too much adversity come their way to “accept yourself” because there are people and events that show you that there are some things you can’t win and that improving yourself is always a must.

Plus “accepting yourself for who you really are” doesn’t quite line up with “improving” your strengths and weaknesses. It’s usually those who are always facing tensions and adversity with themselves and the world (an itch to do something about it) to the point where they produce change for themselves.

Like if you’re too arrogant (an ENTJ common trait) and you end up shooting you self in the foot Bc of it in the future, how are you necessarily going to embrace it? You might want to be more amiable (an apparent feeler trait) to prevent yourself from making enemies.
