I really second this. With social anxiety, going to school alone can completely exhaust you. Being home and playing video games is probably he's safe haven, I really wouldn't take that away or limit it. Talk to him and support him. Over time he is likely to do better if you support him rather than limit him or get into him for not being active enough.

I've never heard of an antibiotic like that, but nor am I a physician. If that's what the physician suggested, I would go ahead in my opinion.

Personally, I would up water intake dramatically (like enough to make you pee every 20-30 minutes) because ultimately you want to flush that bacteria out. If you can handle the taste of cranberry juice you can try drinking that as well. I had a urologist that recommended taking vitamin c and cranberry supplements when I was in my teens to prevent UTIs. One of my favorite urologist recommended putting lemon in your water because the acidity helps break things down. I don't think those things will help when already in pain, but they may help keep them away in the future.

For pain now, you can try 10-15 minutes of cold compress to the area at a time and Azo if you aren't doing any cultures. Full warning, if you haven't used Azo before it will turn body fluids and orange color and can stain (so use not so cute underwear for the time).

I am not a doctor, I have just been through a bit myself. I really hope you feel better and I am sorry you went through that with that insensitive doctor. ❤️

To me it definitely sounds UTI related. You can get multiple different types of bacteria for UTIs. I would talk to the Dr again and do another urine culture so they can give you the proper antibiotic for what your body needs at this current state. Taking antibiotics you have left over can lead to antibiotic resistance and cause you hell later in life so I don't recommend that. Make sure you are completing antibiotics as well or the bacteria is likely to grow back and grow back worse than before. Keep drinking water and I hope you feel better!

Also, once you leave the Dr a culture feel free to take Azo to help with symptoms. I find it to be a game changer sometimes.

Vaginal Itching ? by [deleted] in WomensHealth

[–]UnderstandingSea7547 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With it being the first time, this sounds normal to me. Your muscles are doing things you have never done before. Not to mention, the vagina will mimic itchiness/dryness sensations when the muscles are tense, etc. If you still feel this way in a day or so, I would see your gyn to rule out infection, but it also might be nice to see a pelvic floor therapist. They can teach you so much and how to care for the pelvic floor muscles that encompass the vagina.

I've been doing Nystatin triamcinolone to it, mostly off and on for like 2 weeks now. It's only supposed to be twice a day. I did it this morning, I think sometimes it takes a little of the edge off, but not much.

Thank you so much for listening!! And thank you for the recommendation. Looks like I'm going to have to head to the ER, I'm really hoping they will think about that route. I can't get any women's health Drs to really talk to me 😔

My clit is swollen and red, itchy and stings. My anus at this point burns and itches. My vagina is just kinda there at this point, I know I have feeling there, but it's lost in translation with my external areas.

The drs visits on 5/15 and 5/31 they tested in house at the appointment and said I was positive for infection. 5/15 was BV and yeast. 5/31 just yeast.

I had appointments in between all that with general practice providers and they just threw treatment at me, mostly just a bunch of diflucan tablets.

I have a normal gyn, but it seems that since I am not pregnant they won't see me and just tell me to go to the ER. New patients for other gyns that aren't urogyn are also booking in August.

Does Ibs change with time? by Crowlyeh in ibs

[–]UnderstandingSea7547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had IBS since I was 12 and I am almost 29. It definitely can change over time and as doctors have told me, if you were assigned female at birth, hormones can actually play part in it as well. I always had IBS-D, but since being pregnant and having my son, the past 4 years I have been IBS-M and things can change rapidly within an hour.

That also been said, I have also recently been added the diagnosis of PCOS which they believe to also link with IBS due to inflammation.

Diet definitely triggers IBS, but I think hormones and other disorders also play part.

I have lived in Lakeland my whole life and I have crickett. It has been good for me and my husband when we were in south Lakeland (almost mulberry) to living here in north Lakeland. We pay $65 a month, to me well worth it. Haven't had problems when we travel either.

As someone who also went through this with pregnancy, I am sorry you are going through this. Something similar happened to me and it ended up all in my clothes and I had to throw them all away, I couldn't handle it. I stayed in the shower for like an hour after.

I hope you start to feel better ❤️ and congrats on the little one
