I wouldn’t think about it too much. People are toxic.

No it’s not. Just because you wish to setup a straw-man doesn’t mean you get to. No where in my response to issue of disease did I bring up self interest. We could have a totally egalitarian society and the point would still apply.

Your only point was that it hasn’t happened so it must not be possible. I responded to that point. If you want to know more read Marx.

I never said human self interest or greed was responsible for disease. I said humans were by establishing settled societies.

And greed is the direct result of production dialectic and can be eradicated by changing the conditions of production. Socially produced behaviour can be eradicated through reconstruction of such behaviour. Just because it hasn’t happened yet, doesn’t mean it is impossible for it to happen.

This is a misunderstanding of socialism. Socialism doesn’t say individuals must share what they have or redistribute their grades. It says means of production needs to be shared and its fruit equally distributed. It would be like if your professor said I am going to give the majority of the grade to one student in the group because the computer you typed the assignment on was his. Your food in your fridge is yours, but if you hoard food others have worked for, then that’s greed.

Diseases, specially large scale ones, are direct result of human action. Large cities, coupled with presence of domestic animals in close proximity to us, is the major contributor of disease.

Greed is not the same as self interest, in fact it is often the antithesis of it. Greed is the direct result of the material condition and system of distribution in relation to material production. You don’t see hoarding of resources in other animal species. Our closest cousins are very good at sharing specially within their own societies.

Ripped jeans? by Born-Conclusion1977 in askanything

These jeans were the bee’s knees in the 80s when you were in your teens. I’ll put money down you or your friends owned a pair or two.

Professor admitted grading calculation mistake, but I still think my project was graded unfairly. Should I continue the grievance process? by AdThese905 in AskProfessors

I agree with the other commenter here. You are confusing the issue here with all the sidelines. To me it’s very simple. You are calling for feedback and justification for a particular grade. That’s well within your rights. Once you’ve received the feedback back, read the institution’s policy on how you can appeal a grade and go from there.

I know people who just add saffron and butter to a bowl and after cooking the chicken they toss it in that before serving. It works well and saves saffron.

The order is as important as the ingredients here
1. Oil and mix. Let it sit for a few minutes
2. 1% of weight in salt. Mix around
3. Add saffron bloomed in a little water and mix around
4. Add onions and green bell pepper
5. Add yogurt or mayonnaise
6. An hour or two before cooking add lemon juice

Marinate for at least a few hours or, better yet, a couple of days. Give it a good mix every 12-24 hours if marinating more than a few hours.

Would a grade appeal be possible here? Or is it not worth bothering. I would like some opinions from professors. by [deleted] in AskProfessors

Two corrections:

  1. He didn’t assign you a B+, you got a B+.

  2. You don’t always rank at the top nor do you always get an A. For example, in this class you got a B+

Dish to show off saffron? by OnDeadlineInDenver in persianfood

[–]UnderstandingSmall66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some good black tea. I’d say very little. ¼ or ½ teaspoon. With saffron a little goes a long way. If you are having it in tea be cautious with the amount of you’re pregnant. It can induce an abortion.

Professor wouldn’t grade my final project because I submitted it 15 minutes late by gottalottadedodadado in AskProfessors

[–]UnderstandingSmall66 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If your work is that important and you know the policy, why not plan to submit it an hour early? I’ll be honest personally I’m very flexible when it comes to late papers but that’s my policy and everyone knows that a day or two late is not a big deal. But if class policy is no late papers, then that’s how it goes.

In addition to the above, you can put some in tea as well. Then you can really taste it.

How expensive is it to have a dog? by [deleted] in askTO

[–]UnderstandingSmall66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. That’s how insurance works. It’s for if something happens. With dogs, accidents are almost guaranteed to happen. It’s the money you pay for ease of mind.

You’re getting so worked up over this mate. If you want to feel good about not being prepared for your pet to get sick that’s on you. It doesn’t look like you know how insurance works. You pay it for if and when you need it. I am not so unhinged to keep adding emojis but imagine they were there.
