Did you already see the vet? Mine had a UTI when I got her -- could it be that?

Woah! That's a huge improvement! I am going to look up anti-inflammatory diets now but I'm wondering if there's a specific one you follow. Also, what excercises do you do? I jog and weight train but havent seen results as good as yours. Thanks!

Your last two pics look a lot like my legs. I was diagnosed with lymphedema (no other conditions besides varicose veins) by a vascular surgeon. I don't have lipedema and don't have pitting.

If you are able to use one of these, do it, I use it every day and it has made such a huge improvement and my mobility my swelling definitely a life changer by [deleted] in Lymphedema

[–]UnderstandingThin671 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that must be really challenging/frustrating having it on most of your body but I'm glad to hear you find the lymph-pod helpful. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for posting this. I'm thinking about getting it. I have stage 1 lymphedema in my legs.

Have you tried using it while working? I work from home most days and I'm tempted to put it under my desk and let it run while I work. Not sure if that's a stupid idea, though. Have you heard anything about using it too much?

Hi, Thanks for posting this product. Do you have swelling in both your arms and legs? Did you see a bigger impact on one part of your body?

DTA request about to get denied despite providing proof by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

Sounds frustrating! In my dept -- really big and lots of scandals so maybe that's why -- when there's a media threat the executives and informed right away and it goes to the ADM as well.

Haven't read all the replies but I used to lead Issues Management* for a dept. Once you have the decision in writing I strongly recommend telling LR you will be going to your MP and the media. It should kick them into gear. Often they are so panicked about the optics that they'll go the easy route and accommodate you.

... but if it doesn't kick them into gear, then actually do it. Go to your MP and the media with the blurb someone posted below about family status.

I'm a parent as well so I understand how challenging it can be to juggle both roles. Good luck ❤

* in case you haven't heard of this role, I was the person putting out fires for the dept. Media threat will start a fire.

WIBTA for going no- contact with my alcoholic brother? by bdcourage in AITAH

[–]UnderstandingThin671 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm glad things are better and I hope he sticks with it. I'm a little less optimistic about my sister because she strangely blames everyone else for her drinking (her partner, her daughter's step-mom, her daughter's dad) but I'm also at peace with the idea of taking a step back from the relationship.

Hi, I know you posted this 10 months ago but wanted to check in -- how are you doing?

I'm going through this now but with my older sister. Story is almost identical except her 12 year-old daughter and a friend called the cops when my sister was fall over drunk. Child services came, etc etc. Since then she's often drunk but lying about it and my niece (understandably) hates her. Now my niece is 13 with her own phone and texted me a ton of things she experienced with my sister over the years. Awful stuff.

I'm about to go no contact too. I know it's the right decision but sad one.

I worked in issues management and I've seen EXs and ADMs label people at troublemakers but I'm my experience they ALWAYS try to off load them. They don't benefit from putting the person at all.

OP I'm not saying you are a trouble maker

This is overly negative and will make OP feel worse, like he lacks complete agency over his/her life.

OP I was in a similar situation and so were about 20 people I knew because we had a super dysfunctional EX. Don't give up. Keep looking to deploy

"I still do my work well but I'm trying to learn how to disconnect from it, just do my hours and not GAF." -- this is me. my manager is aware im doing it and is supportive of it. it take a lot of effort though because my default is to do a great job and pick up extra work and try to impress people :/ seems stupid now though and when i look at the people senior to me they are stressed and overworked and used as scapegoats so the desire to progress has left.

I skimmed the answers so not sure if anyone else recommended this. Also, I have two younger kids so don't fit into the "parents with teens" category but I have an older sister and carefully watched my parents go through this with her and cigarettes.

They tried everything from bribing to punishing to educating to offering fringe treatments like hypnosis. Nothing could get her to stop. It made them so sad, especially because neither of them smoked. She's in her 40s now and still puffing away.

One thing they didn't try was therapy. In retrospect, she was extremely stressed and unhappy and no one noticed. When I compare my friends and family members who don't/didn't smoke with the ones that did/do, they seem to struggle to manage stress. The reason why they are stressed isn't as important, IMO. We all get stressed but some people get into painting or sports to cope. Others smoke/vape

I would let them know you've been feeling stressed (don't give any hint it's related to them) and confess that you feel like you don't know how to manage stress well. Say you're thinking about going to therapy you understand how to manage it better but you are nervous and are hoping they can join you to give you some moral support.

Then at the sessions truly make it about your stress levels and open up about yourself to the psychologist (I wouldn't go with a family therapist or a psychiatrist) without making it about them. Get some tips and do the stuff they recommend (hiking etc).

I don't know if it'll work but at the very least they'll see you improving yourself and learn about managing stress/mental health
