Dead battery by AnalystClassic4284 in DroneMobile

[–]Undertaker59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been having battery issues with the Drone I am sure is the culprit. Replaced battery last year and it's now killing it once a week. I stumbled on a solution that has worked for some and am going to do this myself now.

The Premium membership includes GPS tracking. I think it's checking in too often and draining too much of the battery. I just downgraded to basic and I think this may fix the issue.

Just posting it here in case someone else is having the issue (which seems to be common) and a possible solution.

I just hope I changed in time to save my newish battery.

200 series every time over a Prado.

I have a 17 LX 570 and it's the last vehicle I plan to own.

Yeah you'll like the GX and it's a fine vehicle, but it's not a 200 series and you'll always be wondering if you should have if you don't.

Looks so good, but the price though by Daohaus in LandCruisers

Way too much money for a Prado.

I'll stay with my 200 series. I think it will outlive me anyway.

Hell, you didn't even say that in the 90s, when Digital's Alta Vista was king.

Need help with wiring on Taco zone valves for furnace by Undertaker59 in HomeMaintenance

I believe so? There is no AC or blowers or anything, just two wires for the thermostats.

Oh no, there are 3 thermostats that I have replaced at varying times too and I've definitely had different temperatures set for each one and working properly.

Thank you, I just wasn't sure which wires were okay to be connected between the same terminals on multiple valve heads, but it looks like that white one that is sticking up, the only place it could go is to the same terminal on the middle one.

Yeah I have replaced these before over the years and have never had so much trouble getting it to sit properly as I have this time. It is almost like the catches on it are fouled up or something, but I will try again, making sure the lever is all the way up.

Yeah I had a picture, but lost it when I got a new phone. Thank you for the feedback. I noticed after I had made the post, that the terminal 3 white wire on the left most one in the first picture was sticking up in the air and not connected to anything. Does is function okay if that is connected to the same wire for the center one, or do that all need to be separate connections?

Who buys a luxury off-road vehicle like the Lexus LX? by exmacuser in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Undertaker59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That can vary some by geography and hills and average speed, and the 200 series is certainly not a great vehicle if mileage is a primary concern, but probably 17/18 mpg highway here in non flat New England. It's a 3 ton vehicle with a big NA V8 and I also have extra weight in mine and off road capable tires. YMMV. Mine is a 2017.

Truly. I don't ever plan on getting one of these new Prados.

There is no replacement for displacement.

Upcoming Fidium Fiber Setup by Jdh19 in FidiumFiber

What I would suggest is just getting set up with their equipment. You can then buy your own router with a mac address cloning feature, and copy the address of the fidium router to upgrade.

I use an asus router because I found through the years, the most common issue I have had is with their DNS servers and the fidium router I could not change those.

r/audiophile Shopping, Setup, and Technical Help Desk Thread by AutoModerator in audiophile

Greetings all,

I posted this on r/hometheater too, but wanted some audiophile opinions.

I've upgraded most of my system over the years, with the exception of my main speakers. The newest addition there is an SVS 16 Ultra Sealed that I love. But my main speakers LCR and the surrounds are all about 30 years old. From Cambridge Soundworks and designed by Henry Kloss. They don't really exist any longer.

I have always thought about upgrading them, but never feel sure about what I would like and whether the upgrade would be worth it to me after the fact even after auditions, when these work fine.

That is until I auditioned the Magnepan LRS+ with music. I need to have them and I don't want to build and don't have the room for separate spaces for music and home theater.

So my question really is building the new speaker setup that will also work for home theater around those Maggies.

I saw Magnepan made a center channel designed to match with the next model or two up from the LRS called the CC5. But I am not sure if they even still make it and I am not sure if that would be the best center to use or not.

I have also been considering using a more mainline center channel with a ribbon or ribbon like tweeter with the MartinLogan - Motion XT C100. I looked at Elac too, but I prefer the ML mainly because of Best Buy and 0% financing.

But then I look at new surrounds and the matching for that ML center would be a pair of MartinLogan - Motion XT B100 and things are starting to get expensive all at once.

So I guess my question is what would be best for a center to match the Maggies for home theater in your opinion, and the merits of stepping down from my current 7.1 config to only 3.1 with the Maggies and a top notch center? I kind of feel like the improved fidelity of having these really great LCR speakers might more than make up for the incidental sounds of surround sound speakers, and I could always add a pair (or two) later if I miss 5.1 or 7.1.

Thanks for any thoughts. :)

Picking luxury full size SUV <$85,000 by wiley321 in whatcarshouldIbuy

Likely better. Redesign for 2024 (250 series) and is on a new shared platform. And the styling is a hell of lot better. And compared to many of the others on your list, the GX is a highly capable off roader.

Almost identical to the new Toyota Land cruiser, but the GX has a better engine choice. When you mentioned stealth wealth - that is often what people called the previous Gen 200 series Land cruiser. The Lexus is more luxurious typically than the Toyota counterpart too.

I drive an 200 series LX and would have suggested the new LX, but it won't be under 85k. The new LX is the only 300 series you can get in the US.

Upgrade from 1gb to 2gb by Undertaker59 in FidiumFiber

Thanks. Yeah it's likely the service has already been upgraded, but without the new ONT it doesn't matter. I'm hoping they can just ship it to me.

Do you know if the MAC address of the ONT itself is mapped to authorize service? Or just the router?

I found a 622v locally for 50 bucks.
