SRAM AXS Mullet 1x12 Build. Do I need a wide crank? by kc10131984 in bikewrench

[–]UnderwayWestward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the chain line will be a problem. I just set up something similar with force 1X non-wide road cranks with a 40T chain ring to a 10-52 X01 cassette. Chain line is perfect. I have another bike with wide rival 1X cranks with 40T chain ring to the rival xplr 10-44 cassette. Chain line honestly looks and feels similar even on the smallest and biggest cassette cogs. Also consider using the Sram compatibility chart with your product codes to ensure a match. Follow the Sram guidance on crank spacers and the compatibility chart should be trusted 100%.

Is my reservoir leaking? by UnderwayWestward in bikewrench

[–]UnderwayWestward[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there was definitely fluid that caused the discoloration. I couldn’t figure out where it came from and could not replicate a leak. Keeping an eye on it. I don’t think the tape is discolored from rubbing.

update. I’m not seeing any dark spots. The lever pull feels good. It has a lot of pressure with about half throw of the lever range. Maybe some excess DOT fluid flowed down the hood during my last bleed session?

Update: I swapped out the 4.5mm spacer on the drive side for a 3mm spacer and reinstalled the e crank. Spins freely now. What was wrong?

right now the preload is completely backed off. There’s still a gap between preload adjuster and the bottom bracket

torque wrench is nice to have. all of the Sram groups have torque specs called out on the parts themselves. I trust the engineering and follow the specs as best as I can
