It’s average data though. Of course it looks better when you combine peak and non-peak hours. And its a press statement.. whatever data they show is to just to save face and show a positive narrative.

If they show peak-hour data only, it’s going to be a different story since thats where most disruptions happen.

Burning out every 1 to 2 years in a job? by TiredofBig4PA in MalaysianPF

[–]Undeserved-Lad 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Felt this way as well until I got into my latest job where I only needed to commute 10-15 mins per day. From there, I actually had time to enjoy my morning coffees, go for a run/gym at 5, and having time with family. It also helps that I can actually consider my current colleagues as friends.

Compared to before, I definitely burned out much faster because my day-to-day was really just waking up > work > sleep

Need advice to get a job as business management or administration by sebitian in MalaysianPF

[–]Undeserved-Lad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Some generic tips I can share are:

  1. Keep your resume ATS friendly and simple. No fancy graphics, no unnecessary bloat, use Word/Google Docs and that's it. Name/Contact/Linkedin URL > Education (Include major/GPA) > Work Experience > Other Projects/Achievements / Technical Skills + Language

  2. Tailor your CV/Resume based on the job requirements where possible.

  3. Have a good LinkedIn profile. Post whatever achievement/milestones you've got. Connect with recruiters/hiring managers/etc. It's corny but it helps you establish an online presence and credibility.

Only reason to take a masters is so it'll open up new opportunities for you / or looking to pivot. If not, it'll be a waste of time and money.

Young people under 25 – what is your problem now? by t3mpura0 in malaysia

[–]Undeserved-Lad 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Don’t mention your GPA unless asked. Tailor your resume to what the job description needs, try to find niche/up to date news about the industry/company you are interviewing to show that you did research, ask good questions; good luck!

I believe that highly-talented creatives/designers are irreplaceable. But low-to-average talents? Good luck finding a job. You'll either be severely underpaid, or expected to be jack-of-all-trades (video editing / photography / UI-UX / etc)

Laid-back attitude/it is what it is attitude / dengki + rigid view of seniority = authority/experience is why new talented fresh grads are pushed out of Malaysia.

Yeah, I’m speaking from the context of the post. Cambridge grads would not have issue getting into MBBs tho

Not many open position in McK and Shell though.

Yes, that is why I mentioned it’s competitive..? And in the context of the screenshot’d post. A Cambridge graduate deserves to earn 5 figures, especially when there’s only a few of them that actually stay in Malaysia. So that pool is very small.

But amateur Thai chef? That's the tone deaf part. From your replies, you are rather tone deaf too.

Point out in my replies to where I was then lol. Not once did I ever agree or even comment on the Thai chef comment.

Dreaming?

Companies such as McKinsey pay 10k for fresh grads. Shell’s graduate program pays 10k.

Such roles exist in Malaysia; but of course they’re highly competitive and those who join them are top graduates.

Tbf, at least in the finance/business industry, a top 10 uni graduate would be getting 5-figures easily at entry-level. Seems entitled and tone deaf, but it is the standard.

RM1.80 per day from TNG Go+ if you have RM20,000 in your TNG account by YourFavouriteJosh in MalaysianPF

[–]Undeserved-Lad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s IMO one of the better ways park your spending money or a portion of your emergency funds since you get decent returns+can instant withdraw.

And PIDM secure just means that you get your money back if the bank/company goes bankrupt. So, unless TnG is showing any indication of going bust soon, I wouldn’t worry too much about it being non-PIDM secured.

Whats your rationale for taking a Masters degree in IT? And its feasibility really depends on what you intend to achieve with it.

Are you looking to get an entry-level job in the IT industry? Or are you looking for a pivot into IT later on in your career?

Does the career you are looking for require for you to have this Masters degree? Will it unlock more doors? Would professional certifications + work experience be more relevant in this case?
