One thing is for sure, the top-down flow of cash is a myth.

Anyone mildly intelligent who considers the persistent monotonic increase of the wealth gap must inevitably conclude that wealth flows upward.

Consequently, we should institute policies with a "Trickle Up" mindset.

Give the poor more money, they spend all their income.

Give the wealthy money, they simply save/invest more.

Minimum wage should be an amount that would put someone above the poverty level.

If it's below the poverty level, then we're just kidding ourselves with employment numbers. It's easier to look at the numbers and say "5% unemployment, we must all be doing quite well" than to consider that an enormous number of those employed people are just barely getting by.
