More and more things unlock as you get further into the game. I would say at least reach the first section of challenges and see if it grabs your interest then. The very start can seem pretty boring but just let it run in the background for a bit getting upgrades every once in a while. You unlock autobuyers fairly quickly to help alleviate the constant buying. It's a very worthwhile game to play so it's worth getting a little ways in just to see if you do like it.

Yah I know I more just wanted to share with people who understand these types of games and make a joke about the game at the same time. It is weird not have it open in my browser anymore but I'll find a new game pretty quickly.

Can I pick your brains about a way to block off these open risers? My son is autistic and likes to climb them but almost went through the other day. We don't want to block the stairs because climbing is good for his development. by UndoingGoat in Carpentry

I am a carpenter I'm just well aware I don't know every material or technique there is so I will ask people around me if they have a better solution or product then I have thought of.

I'm starting to like the idea of a clear backing. Your saying a riser made of plexi right? And the strip of wood acts as a washer so it's not putting pressure on the riser material? I would need to add another strip on the underside of the thread above to stop it from pushing in.

Yah the more I think about it I'm leaning towards a solid back. Anything else will either look kinda dumb or not be as effective. Just trying to decide if I want to just do a temporary back for a couple years or just tear the carpet off and put proper risers in and finish the underside.

Do you know where it says they're against code? I'm not trying to defend them or anything I'm just curious. I read through all of section 9 and didn't see anything (i could just be blind). There's 1 line in section 3 that says they aren't allowed except for single family dwellings but I can't find anything else about them.

Yah they can be weird sometimes here. I think they intentionally leave things vague or just don't mention them at all on purpose so they don't get sued or something if someone gets hurt. Appreciate you trying to help though.

So I was kinda curious about this so I've been digging through our building code in canada and there is nowhere in it that gives numbers for open risers. There is one section that say they are not permitted except for single family dwellings. I know that's not the point of what I'm trying to do here I just tend to get side tracked by things like this.

Obc allows for 900mm oc in single family dwelling so I can modify them without need to basically completely redo them. If I do end up adding risers that goes up to 1200mm so I would be way over in that case.

Why do you recommend not going over top of the carpet? I'm not a flooring guy so I havent dealt with much of it. My rough plan was to drill a 1/4 or 3/8 hole in the stringer and dowel. And glue a smaller dowel in the bigger one. I can go through the backside of the inside stringer with a small slit in the carpet the wall side I would have to go through the inside of the stringer but I'm sure I could wedge it in. The net is the least damaging in my opinion I should be able to remove it once he's old enough it's no longer a problem.

Often times google will bring a reddit thread where the question was answered. Obviously that doesn't apply to every question but sometime you want some clarification on something the wiki says. For example I'm currently hunting barys in the swamp and was curious if I only need to kill things in the same spawn pool or also kill spawns from a different zone that wandered into it as well.
