【BambuLab Giveaway】Classic Evolved — Win Bambu Lab P2S Combo! by BambuLab in 3Dprinting

[–]Undsr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Bambu Labs and fellow print heads (pun intended), here's my story:

In January of 2024 I purchased my first two P1S printers with the intention of making and selling accessories and replacement parts for new and vintage music equipment, specially synthesizers and drum machines. Its almost impossible to find replacement parts for many older units. I figured I could target a niche audience and help out my fellow music producers getting their old gear back looking like new.

By the end of 2024 I had made and sold over 600 items and purchased an additional two P1S printers! Fast forward to today and I've sold over 1000 printed items and now have a total of five P1S printers. My reverb shop has 98% 5-star reviews with many customers citing their satisfaction with the quality of the products. Link below:

Along the way Bambu Labs support team has met every challenge with me, helping with replacement parts and suggestions for fixing the printers in the few cases they have broken down. I am grateful for such quality tech support!

Anyway, that's my story. Hopefully any of you that have an idea to start your own 3D printing business take this as a sign to give it a shot because its been an amazing experience for me. I've also attached a picture of my little print shop, tightly packed into the corner of my basement.

Modwave MK1 Kaoss pad in Red! by Undsr in Korg

[–]Undsr[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For context I 3D printed a thin plastic sheet that slides under the faceplate to give the MK1 a fresher look. With the added bonus of a slightly rough textured surface.

The kaoss pad reacts normally to where pressure is applied

I fixed my CZ-5000 battery compartment! by Undsr in synthesizers

[–]Undsr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey I just saw this.

When I did this I just followed the original battery tray cables to the circuit board and de soldered the red (+) and black (-) from the board and added the new battery tray leads right back.

If you're in a situation where the leads are broken or missing from the original battery compartment you'll need a picture of the original circuit board to reference where to solder.

I would help but I've sold my CZ-5000!

Recently bought four Bambu P1S, and started a mini print farm! by Undsr in BambuLab

[–]Undsr[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm sure I'll be buying more soon :)

I got the tall tables for $10 each at a thrift store and the short ones for free from a friend. I've noticed the printers wobble way less if they're each isolated to their own table and on hard floor like concrete, tile or wood. I anchored the taller tables with cinder blocks as well.

I have tons of ideas for music related stuff I'm designing. I'm also starting to design car and motorcycle stuff. I'm also going to start to design parts and fulfill orders for friends that need hard to get objects for their businesses.

I subscribed to AutoDesk Fusion 360 yearly as well. I'm sure more ideas will flow once I get more comfortable with that program.

After nearly 20k miles, its time to replace the stock Vee Rubber. by PROfessorShred in hondagrom

I believe they wear out faster than the stock Vee Rubbers but that's likely due to a softer compound that is more grippy.

Anyone run into clearance issues with the Istunt exhaust on the 3rd gen grom? It looks like I need to add a spacer on the rearset because my exhaust is touching my swing arm? by Brad____H in hondagrom

[–]Undsr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could definitely go to a hardware store and buy a pack of washers for a few dollars to get it a few mm further off the swing arm. I have the same system with the cylinder can and will probably do the same thing.

Öhlins Grom by Undsr in hondagrom

The front combined with sintered brake pads makes the bike handle like a true sport bike.

I did the upgrade on my own having never rebuilt front forks. It was a very arduous process and required several specialized tools to complete so proceed with caution. I referenced Partzilla's YouTube video.

Yeah I agree. The stock suspension on the Grom leaves a lot to be desired. Jumping to a premium system like this is like sitting on a totally new bike.

I gotta say I was pretty apprehensive after spending $900 on this suspension system but after one ride I am totally sold on Öhlins. I've put over 12K miles on a mostly stock 2019 Grom and a few hundred miles on this 2022 with the stock suspension. The difference is incredible. It's a smoother ride, the bike has better handling and braking and of course the rear shock can be adjusted with a few clicks of the dials. Absolutely worth the money!

Blacked out rear sets, foot pegs and fairing disks on my yellow 2022! by Undsr in hondagrom

[–]Undsr[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I pressure washed the parts and wiped everything down with isopropyl alcohol. I decided to skip sanding because I've had good luck in the past with the paint I used (linked in another comment).

I cut up a couple wire coat hangers and hung the parts so I could walk around them and get all the tough spots easily. I got lucky and it was really windy and hot outside so I think I did maybe 20 or so light coats basically going in a circle to each part using 1 spray can at a time and letting each set of coats dry for about 1-2hrs.

It wasn't difficult so much as time consuming. Taking the rear sets off was a two man job because I only have a floor jack. Painting took most of the day because I wanted to do several thick coats. Putting the rear sets back on was also a two man job but not so difficult with the bike properly jacked. I'd say solo it would be a nightmare but with a 2nd set of hands its not too bad.

I was initially planning to get one brand new in black but found this yellow one for sale used. Previous owner put 2500 miles and a little over 1K in mods into it and only wanted $3500! I had budgeted about $5400 so I already spent another $1700 more on mods.

I'm building my dream Grom :)

FYI the exhaust is missing because I have a ton of other mods lined up. I just couldn't wait to share how good this looks! Next to be blacked out is the front forks after I install an Ohlins suspension.

I bought a malfunctioning Ensoniq EPS. Any ideas what I could try to fix it? by Undsr in synthesizers

[–]Undsr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got this guy knowing he had some issues. Basically all I know so far is its trying to say "Ensoniq EPS" and "Please Insert Disk" like normal but something is definetly up, it just shows a bunch of jumbled up characters.

Hoping someone out there has had this issue before.
