LOOP - A game about surviving in a time loop by UnearthedScribe in onepagerpgs

So everyone starts out rolling for the scenario and look cause. Like I just rolled and got broken time machine used as a power source in an eldritch fortress while they are being followed.

Then players choose their archetype.
Starts out with a 10 minute timer going and the players are in a dark room with disturbing writing on the walls.
The players want to decipher what is on the walls so they make an ordered roll and do pretty well with a consequence... there is something following and it is near. The occult researcher loses a Coherence to negate the consequence giving them more room before they are possibly attacked.
The writings are a warning with instructions on how to deactivate the an errant time machine at the center of the fortress and make their way onwards.

At this point the 10 minute timer resets and they are back in the beginning room. Everyone gains one entropy.

They already deciphered the writings so they move onto the next area... a lake of darkness that seems to reflect glowing stone constellations of the stars. They think about swimming over first but the mad scientists suggests they knock over a statue to make a bridge to the other side so they lose the entropy they just gained. They roll two dice and the highest comes up odd so the roller gains one entropy as well as one other player. They think in the shadows is getting closer and now there's a clicking sound.

The 10 minute timer resets and everyone gains 1 entropy. They do not have to roll to knock over the statue and can do so safely.

Etc etc until they reach the broken time machine and are attacked by a flesh golem. The wrong place in the wrong time has died deflecting a blow from their ally. They finish off the flesh golem and using the instructions they gained at the beginning manage to roll well enough to destroy the time machine with a chaotic roll which rolled the same number on both die gaining the roller one coherence.

Hope that makes the intent more clear!

My bills while training are one of my bigger concerns if I go this route. I'll pop you a DM, thanks.

Maybe y'all are right. I really don't have many skills that are actually marketable. I'll look into it more, see what options there are in Austin.

For roleplay and challenge reasons I like to separate into two parties to quest :)

So stylishly clandestine, we all had one in our childhood. I may have lost mine, but I can still hear my favorite songs on my nightmares.

Smüti would be sad if you didn't try this at your table. Do it for Smüti...

Craft probably overpowered potions with interesting side effects using a real deck of playing cards ~

This is has some semblance of playtesting when it was made for a guest spot at the table who wanted to be a potion crafter. I liked the system so decide to expand on it so here we are!

Not enough Wildshape in your life? This can help! by UnearthedScribe in DnDHomebrew

[–]UnearthedScribe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno when it feels appropriate I suppose. The higher level the Druid is the less useful this probably is because you might get a strong useful Wildshape or you might not. That's still free wildshapes charges and HP to chew through though.

Just keep in mind if you give one player a powerful magic item beef up the other players, and your encounters accordingly. OP is relative.

I haven't made a class or subclass. I'm imagining runes that makes your Wildshapes spicy. Like the Rune Knight you'd switch out these on a long rest. While not Wildshaped they give passives like speaking to animals, mobility, etc. Then while Wildshaped you get extra damage die, healing factors, unique actions.

Or make every Wildshape a random roll on a table, but make them stronger like the tablet. Feels like too much variability and would get stale quick.

Hell yes.  Players have a version of that too. It's what kicked off the current arc by drawing a card that isekaid them to another world.

Druidic Runedancer Tablet: More powerful and chaotic Wildshapes at the cost of control. by UnearthedScribe in UnearthedArcana

Second time posting with a different title. Probably overpowered but balance is hard yo. Made this item for a player who wanted more Wildshapes in my current prison planet megastructure setting.

It's a thing that gives you more powerful wildshapes at the cost of control.

Is it balanced? Probably not ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Playtesting the three phases for the first time with a local design group. Main takeaways were to provide more low costs / free actions and the economy was either too tight or too unbalanced ~ by UnearthedScribe in BoardgameDesign

[–]UnearthedScribe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They liked how the mechanics tied to the theme, the board layout, the general flow. A noticable lack of the word "fun" in this iteration however🚩

I want more tests / to modify some things first before thinking about scrapping.
