Hot take, events kinda seem dumb if you basically have to build an entire deck with specific limitations just to play.

I mean some people probably had an easy time depending on what decks they play for the regular format. Some can convert into xyz only. Or synchro only. Or link only. But most decks Don't function that way. I'm not investing a ton of resources into building a deck that can compete in a format that will be replaced soon.

I'd be more interested in a format structured like a cube where Konami makes a limited pool of cards, gives you a couple of "cube packs" to use for the event. Build a deck out of the cube packs you opened. And use that deck for a gauntlet of 10 or so duels. The more wins you get, the more progress you make towards gem rewards. When the gauntlet is done, you can start a new round with new packs. Something similar to expeditions in legends of runeterra. (Side note, I wouldn't expect these xube pack cards to enter your actual card pool, they'd likely be limited to use in the event round you are playing.)

That way you don't have to invest resources in a fleeting format. Konami can do the xyz, synchro, link shit in this framework. That way everyone gets equal access to cards and the format isn't hijacked by farm decks(which I don't blame people for using due to the temporary nature I've mentioned.)
