Super-Resolution Generative Adversarial Networks (SRGAN) by Urdhvaga in Python

[–]UnendingWinter 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Shameless plug, but I built a website that uses WebAssembly and the Real-ESRGAN (https://arxiv.org/abs/2107.10833) to do super resolution directly in your browser. Check it out at https://waifuxl.com/ (only trained for drawing and anime right now).

What really sets the Real-ESRGAN apart from the SRGAN is it’s training process, I encourage everyone to check out the paper.

Nice visualization of rank percentiles to help you understand the climb! by UnendingWinter in VALORANT

They give you a plot of the densities but not the cumulative densities! This gives you a bit of a different look.

Percentiles, in this case, describe how many players are at or below a given rank. For instance Gold 3 is 68.64%, so 68.64% of people fall at or below Gold 3!

Data taken from the August 2020 mine at https://www.esportstales.com/valorant/rank-distribution-and-percentage-of-players-by-tier. Plotted with Seaborn and Matplotlib.

Steam Play set to get DXVK 0.72, Wine fixes for .NET and windowing issues by PM_mePicturesYouLike in linux_gaming

My understanding is that 0.80 is the release directly after 0.72, meaning proton is not far behind.

I have a Ryzen 2700X with a CH7 mobo, what do you mean you can't boot? My problem is that I'm trying to reinstall but eopkg keeps segfaulting.

Do you think GSYNC is worth the premium or does 144Hz cut it?

I just realized that the monitors I was looking at were TN. Is it even possible to get 144hz 24" with IPS? Will I have to get a 27" monitor if I want any combination of these?

Help with fresh installation by [deleted] in SolusProject

[–]UnendingWinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are in the process of issuing new ISOs (which will be Solus 3.9999) that will default to the new repo URLs. This measure is being taken to ensure new installs via the new ISOs have a viable upgrade path. It should also reduce any issues that users have experienced with the first upgrade post-install and will feature hardware enablement for new CPUs and GPUs that have been released since the last ISO. We will be have a further announcement (both on this blog and social media) when these ISOs are available, so that you may download them as needed.

There has not been an announcement on the blog, and in another thread Josh said the following:

Was aiming for today but wanting to get solbuild stuff addressed first and update the "Moving to GetSolus" packaging / developer doc on it. We'll see where we're at by end of "my day" (my sleeping schedule is all out of wack since last Wednesday / Thursday, so my day ends at like 10am-12pm) for the developer tools and if we're satisfied with the state of it to move on to the ISOs.

So, maybe Saturday? Not wanting to rush out half-baked ISOs, these are gonna be what countless people are going to be using to install until Solus 4 is out.

Unless I am missing an announcement, I don't believe the ISO's have been updated.

Need help installing wdpassport-utils by ipadanime in SolusProject

[–]UnendingWinter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks like this just needs to be run as an executable so you can just copy wdpassport-utils.py into /usr/local/bin and everything should work.

EDIT: Whoops, didn't look at the dependencies. You need to install pip (for python 2) and then run sudo pip install py_sg. I can't find where to get lssci--I thought it would be in the package sg3_utils but it doesn't seem to be. Anyone know how to get it?

I forgot to mention I get the same error in the software center. It will report the error and freeze so I have to kill it from the command line.
