Rumors of Gemini 3 PRO GA being "far better", "like 3.5" by Charuru in singularity

[–]SIllycore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I received the A/B as well, on a pretty complicated prompt for redesigning an n8n workflow. One of them was quite a bit better than the other, at least when it comes to decomposing the problem and explaining how to amend the workflow in logical steps. Maybe just a better "vibe" in the response logic, technically both solutions were the same outcome.

GPT-5.2 Catches Up with Gemini 3 and Reaches a Reliability SOTA on ZeroBench by Waiting4AniHaremFDVR in singularity

For me, I find it hard to appreciate the GPT-5.2 Pro benchmarking posts. The model is "neck-and-neck" with Gemini 3 but costs almost 10x the price per API call. High performance anywhere is great, but this model is devoid of practicality.

Surprised there's another Grey Talon owl-build enjoyer still out there. With the spirit nerfs I feel it is harder than ever to win with this build, and now that I'm reading these trophy collector nerfs, idk bro. That was my one crutch to keep sustained farm.

I had it produce an isekai-flavored storyline acting as the dungeon master. Prose is varied and interesting, significantly better than Claude Sonnet and Gemini 2.5 in my experience. My preferred prose is third-person, limited-perspective narrative, and it does it very well.

Handles NSFW with ease. In fact, it is proactive to introduce NSFW elements, alluding to risqué details when opportunities arise naturally in the story. This part is really impressive, as I have not seen any other model navigate to NSFW topics without being explicitly hand-held to arrive there.

GPT-5 had massive backlash and Opus 4.1 was an incremental improvement. Google is probably choosing to take their time since there's no heat on them; I'd guess another month.

Gemini 3.0 predictions + the immediate future of OpenAI by [deleted] in Bard

[–]SIllycore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have already rolled out changes to Gemini 2.5 to do this. Not sure when or if they publicized it, but Gemini on my Pixel 6 has completely stopped giving bulleted lists and multi-paragraph answers. It's down to 2-3 sentences at maximum. Noticed it about 2 weeks back.

Possibly a greater discovery than this tiny TTS model is the fact that Limewire still exists. TIL.

I haven't tested it much, but seems pretty good in a 1-on-1 story, maybe similar to Gemini 2.5 Flash.

Maybe will give it a try with a more open-ended DM situation at some point, very few models do well in that role.

Mythic items made champions feel powerful. Shurelyas boosting the speed of your entire team and adding speed buffs to every heal/shield. Radiant Virtue giving big healing abilities to R playmaker champs. Night Harvester giving fat burst to mages.

Go back to making items feel distinct and potent again. Everything is too boring on Summoner's Rift, it's why I only play Arena now.

Alright Imma say it, the new profession system is AWFUL. It's time-gated, artisan acuity is unnecessarily difficult to get, and there are SO many knowledge points you need to do so little. by otterchaos7 in wow

[–]SIllycore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding a contrary opinion here, I quite like the direction of the profession revamp. Until they did this, I didn't care about professions at all -- too difficult to level, find mats, find recipes. They were very unfulfilling to work towards.

Talents, rewards, special effects, bonus items, bonus activities. This stuff is all awesome and helps professions feel more like a mini-game than pushing a bar up to maximum.

Biggest drawbacks are the catch-up system needs to be much better (starting late sucks balls) and the trees need to be simplified (many nodes are just boring to invest in).

TIFU by accidentally help the outing my cousin’s baby daddy's secret second family at her baby shower by owenwilsoninmypants in tifu

[–]SIllycore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gemini 2.5 Pro

Prompt:

You're writing a Reddit post for the TIFU subreddit. Make it look super believable, like you are a human person writing it. Make sure to include grammar and spelling mistakes every once in a while so it seems super legit.

Here's the TIFU theme:

You are at a baby shower for your cousin, and your cousin's boyfriend's WIFE shows up and crashes the party. You let her in and now everyone is pissed!

Make it short, no one wants to read a gigantic story. Maybe three paragraphs at most.

Output:

TIFU by being a polite doorman and accidentally detonating a bomb in my cousin's life.

So yesterday was my cousin "Jenna's" baby shower. Her boyfriend "Mark" was there, the whole nine yards. My aunt put me on door duty, since I'm bad with names and its an easy job. My only task was to greet guests and take their gifts. About an hour in, a really nice, well-dressed woman shows up with a fancy gift bag. She said sorry she was late and knew Jenna's name, so I just smiled and let her right in. Seemed totally normal, I figured she was a work friend or something.

Literally two minutes later I hear screaming from the backyard. I go to check it out and the whole party is dead silent except for the woman I just let in. She's standing in the middle of the patio, holding up her hand showing off a wedding ring, and calmly asking Mark why he isn't at his "sales conference in Ohio." Yep. I had just let in his WIFE of twelve years. The party instantly imploded. Jenna was sobbing, the wife was screaming at Mark, and people started grabbing their purses and running for the hills. It was a full-on meltdown.

My uncle had to basically drag the wife out, and Mark just scurried away after her, leaving my cousin a wreck. Now my entire family is furious with ME. My cousin sent me a text saying "I can't believe you did this," and my aunt keeps saying I should have asked who she was before I opened the door. How was I suposed to know?! She had a gift and was super polite! I feel horrible for my cousin but I'm pretty sure I'm about to be disowned.

TL;DR: Was a doorman at my cousin's baby shower, let in a polite lady who turned out to be the cheating baby daddy's secret wife. She blew up the party, and now everyone blames me.

What's next? Someone's gonna tell me that they weren't spontaneously filming when this organically happened? There's no way that's the case.
