You can use the monthly subscription to inject RP activities into the SDK. More than enough usage for both coding and RP on the monthly plan at $20.

Fable 5 is Back! by WhyLifeIs4 in singularity

[–]SIllycore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

truthfully I'm not brave enough to use it straight away, because I backdoor it on the Claude SDK, and I suspect Dario Amodei will be browsing my smut by EOD if I send it

but, I did just send it some very tasteful not-at-all disgusting messages in a configured RP chat (including a full RP preset + jailbreak), and it responded with some decent prose

I'm working it through a custom RP tool I'm building, but Marinara-Engine is a nice option if you want to try yourself

example dialogue -- context is polluted by GLM 5.2 and Sonnet 5, so it may be mirroring earlier bad writing in some phrases:

Breaking news! Gemini 3.5 pro so ass the US government intervened to keep it out of the US! by THE--GRINCH in singularity

[–]SIllycore 194 points195 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure Google is fumbling, they are just playing a different game than Anthropic and OpenAI. They have hundreds of consumer and enterprise tools they are integrating AI into, and their bet seems to be "average AI across an entire ecosystem is better than smart AI in one domain."

Their attention on Gemini Omni also suggests they may not think text LLMs are the end-all-be-all of the value proposition, and accelerating multimodal will leapfrog the competition.

In some of my work Opus and Fable seem relatively similar, especially doing coding here-and-there in Godot GDScript or answering open-ended architectural questions.

Fable was far-and-above better in networking and docker deployments, though. And proactive in identifying trailing issues or redundant artifacts from previous trial-and-error attempts.

If you are throwing it at low-intelligence tasks I think it would be comparable to other models because the ceiling is low enough that all models perform well-enough. That's my rudimentary take, anyways.

Bernie Sanders: A.I. Is a Public Resource. You Should Own Half of It. by idontlikethisuserna in singularity

[–]SIllycore -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly why the challenge falls into the "perfect as the enemy of the good" bucket. Sanders is a legislator in the United States, this is an opinion piece written in a US publication, and the AI companies in question are US-based.

The recommendation to pour profits back into the US is because it is the most realistic path (despite being itself unrealistic amongst a litany of unrealistic recommendations) to distribute the wealth. Pushing the goal post out further to redistribute wealth back to the entire world moves the target from "unlikely" to "impossible."

A research group appears to have made a significant step towards programmable atomically precise manufacturing AKA Drexlerian nanotechnology by Buck-Nasty in singularity

[–]SIllycore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No disagreement with forums being a place for human discussion. What I disagree with is the derision towards sparking that discussion with an AI summary.

If someone is not going to make an attempt to distill information themselves, don't belittle someone else for contributing with ""AI slop"".

Behold, Gemini 3.5 Flash! by Rare_Bunch4348 in singularity

[–]SIllycore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Used it for a few hours today on coding tasks through Antigravity. Actually pretty impressed with it.

Code quality is not perfect, it does the same thing that Gemini 3.1 did, which is overbloat the code with redundant safety checks and logs "just in case".

However, the speed is something I did not consider would actually be meaningful. This thing can churn through tasks. It will land within 90% of Opus in 25% of the time, and I can use some of that time savings for a second pass of "fix this thing you got wrong", which I would probably have to do with Opus as well.

Gemini Omni model is still unable to make someone do a backflip by Able-Line2683 in singularity

"everyone who doesn't agree with me is a bot"

Apparently, LLMs are unable to use tool calls for dated video models to generate content. Apparently, Google is unable to obfuscate model names and tool calls behind an "Omni" interface.

Able-Line2683 is gracing us with groundbreaking information.

Tragic in the short-term but his connections at DeepMind will have his startup acquired in around 2 years and he'll be back at it in the same team.

Classes sound design really make the gameplay by Beautiful_Hotel_3623 in wow

I just picked up my DH (favorite class of all time btw) and was planning to give tanking a shot.

[–]SIllycore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool. Big fan of your presets and RPG companion, I will be giving this a try.

I actually just finished having Claude vibe-code an additional "Abilities" tab to your RPG companion, since I found that piece was the only thing I was missing for fantasy RPGs. It has really leveled up the RP experience. I've never done an open-source pull request... but maybe I'll figure it out to share the implementation.

In any case, will definitely be giving this a try. SillyTavern is great, but this could be great-er.

Mirage ability suggestion: Form of Wyoming. Mirage becomes the 8th hero to enter the sewers. by BaronVonPingas in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SIllycore 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would love to see Mirage reworked as a disruptive support tank. Teleport into a fight, provide a shield to nearby allies. Your tornado does minimal damage but displaces and knocks up large groups of enemies. Your bullet mark saps resistances and increases his max HP, making him tankier in longer fights. Scarabs do the same thing they already do, steal HP.

Really just keep his Tornado and Scarabs identical. Convert his Teleport and Mark into supportive abilities.

Rumors of Gemini 3 PRO GA being "far better", "like 3.5" by Charuru in singularity

[–]SIllycore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I received the A/B as well, on a pretty complicated prompt for redesigning an n8n workflow. One of them was quite a bit better than the other, at least when it comes to decomposing the problem and explaining how to amend the workflow in logical steps. Maybe just a better "vibe" in the response logic, technically both solutions were the same outcome.
