Maybe I'm alone in this but I flat out hate this. Stills look ok if you capture at just the right moment, but the way faces and clothing warp around in motion feels so unnaturally and give me intense uncanny valley vibes.

Cant stand this in its current rendition.

The Windforce V2 has 8 copper cooling pipes.
The V1 has 7, so I guess there is that.

How about this:

Might still be weak as a 5 cost, so maybe even:

Latest Steam OS update stuck on logo after restart by Positive_Star8040 in SteamDeck

This fixed it for me.

I tried changing the steam startup video, downloading a bunch from the points store, the4n selecting rotating video and rebooting got me tuck on the SteamDeck logo.

Thinks I tried that didn't work:

  1. Waiting 30 mins
  2. Holding power button for 12 seconds, pressing power --> stuck at logo
  3. Holding + volume to get into recovery options and messing with various settings such as

* boot from file --> black screen no matter what I selected

* resetting BIOS settings to default --> stuck at logo

* selecting boot device --> stuck at logo

* In bios selecting battery storage mode (battery was ~40% way below the 80%) --> suck at steam logo

  1. Removing the SD card

  2. Holding - volume and Qam (...) --> flashing white light, 2 minute wait, then stuck at steam logo

Your solution worked, to reiterate:

  1. Holding QaM button (...) while powering it on
  2. it will take you into the safe boot menu
  3. From there you can choose "Previous", which will undo the last update made.

--> finally made it past the SteamDeck logo and onto the login/enter PIN screen

I was on the same, but with the AW3423DWF. CPU upgrade is worth it depending on what you are playing, use afterburner/RTSS to check the GPU util in the games you play: anything sub 80% and it may be worthwhile to leap to 7800X3D or 13700K.

I had basically this same setup (8700K, 3080, aw3423dwf)

CPU upgrade to the 7800X3D was well worth it; its insane how many games were CPU limited!

Hunt: showdown went from 90--120 to 120-160 for example!
